Yeah it does seem kinda silly, since everyone here is into drugs and guns and all that stuff, couple swear words seems harmless. However, if the big boyz think it's the right move, and it's for the overall good of the board and it's members, then so be it, it is their call after all

So while we may speak about whatever we want, passion does not mean that we are free to speak however we want.

A lot of the cursing leads to people getting riled at each other in pics forums or people taking things the wrong way - again, I cannot see one beneficial thing that cursing adds to the board or your posts but there are many negatives.

And most of those who curse often sound like a bunch of freshmen in HS who are excited that they are finally "old enough" to use the words **** and **** instead of adults who can actually run 2 sentences together without an expletive Can you say "we aint got no edjumacation?" Frankly, I dont want to sound like that, and since I have to read all this garbage its starting to rub off and I would guess it has this effect on everyone - that is not the kind of influence that I want AR to have or to stand for.

So you see, you are still free to type whatever you like - and we are still free to allow only what we deem is beneficial to the board and at least mildly worthy of reading.

I try to stay under the radar of Cycleon.

He has a point when it comes to setting and sticking to standards that he and Jason set up. Im sure it feels good for them to know that other boards use this as referance and a foundation for their own boards (and there are A LOT of boards out there.)
They have let A LOT of threads slide by in the past couple of months that normally would have been pulled. This being not to cause an uproar such as the whole post count thread thing.
Im sure some things need to hold firm.
It does seem like we are children being told to watch our language but like CYC said " you can swear, but now you just have to be more creative and work for it"
