I’ll simmer down a bit and qualify what I just said. Cancer is cell growth gone totally out of control... you risk giving the cancer cells steroid enchanced growth capabilities

So steroids are a really bad idea....

Cannabis (marijuana) on the other hand could help

I dont know why I didn't think of cannabis myself. That's a great idea. And yes it's legal in our state

As for the nature of cancer- yes, I understand it's cell growth gone outta control. However it never occured to me anavar would increase cancer cell growth. I understand different cancers respond to different hormones differently. That's why I posted the question. I simply didn't know if there was a good reason why doctors don't give patients like her (who are wasting away) a drug made specifically for weight gain among people with wasting conditions.

Cause it deviates from standard practice. Consider the event things go south after off-label treatment - doctors can be then held responsible, it's a big risk to them.

Real problem is in the current state of things we can't really decide what we consider best when it comes to our health and life.

I wouldn't give her an AAS with her having cancer either. Cannabis on the other hand could be very beneficial for appetite and weight gain.

P.s. I’m sure you’re come from a really good (but uninformed) place so I’m sorry for my initial outburts

It's all good. I'm just looking for information. I'd be interested to know if there's any science (published research) behind pancreatic cancer growth and anavar specifically (looking into cancer cell growth and how/if it's affected by anavar)

What about insulin? Did she develop type 1 diabetes?

About anavar most doctors will go by book, "steroids" aren't a chance not even if you are in your death bed.

When talking cancer the whole thing about chemotherapy is to inhibit the anabolic pathways so that to stop the tumour from growing... however the pancreas is not a main target of androgenic hormones, although some downstream effects might still happen - increased/unwanted GH secretion, for example, but at the age of 77 and at low doses it could be non-significant. Not sure really, it might be worth consulting an oncologist, var can be scripted legally in the US I believe.

Nandrolone might be a valid alternative also.

Thanks for responding, HH. Great information! So far she has not developed diabetes. I understand it's likely she will.
