GLP-1 (Weegovi etc). for cutting etc?

I haven't been on here in quite some time. I did a search for GLP-1 and nothing came up but I'm sure this has been discussed before. Was looking into this and seems really promising even for people into bodybuilding. Shows good prognosis for muscle building as well as fat loss but would be curious how it would impact being able to eat enough to grow. At this point in my life I'm not looking to get any bigger but thought about maybe adding it to my summer cut.

Also, trying to convince my girl to jump on it for a short time as she's gained quite a bit of weight over the past 2 years and she's kind of unwilling to get back to the gym. I obv. can't force her back to training but thought maybe if she took this she would get motivated to go back. Only concern is I don't want her relying on it as you obv. gain the weight back when/if you come off.

I've given semaglutide some thought, if for on other reason than to kill "food noise". I have about a year's worth of it on hand from various makers, we will see where I land on that.

One of the things that concerns me about it, and would be counter to your "shows good prognosis for muscle building" statement, is the smack down it can put on appetite. The calorie restriction that some people experience comes from the loss of both fat AND muscle. GLP-1s are not to the best of my knowledge muscle sparing. I SUSPECT that this could be mitigated by two things:

    A) VERY careful application of some additional drugs
    B) a very disciplined diet.

The drugs would include at least trt level test, hgh, and probably one of the steroids designed primarily for muscle sparing, like maybe var or similar. This would encourage the retention of muscle tissue. And of course the diet portion would focus heavily on quality protein and fiber. Some of the GLP-1s can cause constipation, evidently sometimes it can be miserable. Keeping things moving at a normal pace is vital, I think, and of course we want to keep protein intake high to help spare muscle.

There you go, just the thoughts of some rando on the internet!

A lot of the info I found on it are def. contradictory. I've read it helps with digestion but also can cause constipation. The appetite part is concerning for me as well. I would hate to do it to lean out and lose muscle mass. I think at the end of the day it's too new on the market to have many solid information and any long term studies.

The whole "gastroparesis" possiblity makes me leery of it.
There are 3 loves in my life: my wife, my English mastiffs, and my weightlifting....Man, my wife gets really pissed when I get the 3 confused...
