You should have a look at this site:

I have this condition also.
I do NOT believe mine is related to stress or panic.
On 3 or 4 occassions per year, I will have incidents of my heart suddenly beating 200+bpm when I am not physically active. You can actually see my entire chest like flutter, as the heart is beating completely out of its proper rythm (read the article above!!)
I have figured out that the trigger to mine is sort of compression of the abdominal or chest region during like crouching over having a crap, or sitting up in the bath suddenly.
Luckily enough i can stop my episodes by using the Valsalva maneuver described at the above site. This always works for me. I concentrate on compressing the lungs as hard as I can and it fixes things. My theory is that by squeezing my lungs as hard as I can, I am stopping the misfire described in the above article - works for me.
I have learnt that the experience is far less stressful if you understand that you can control it by the Valsalva maneuver. The first time I had it, I was scared sh1tless, thought I was a goner (maybe 20 years ago). Went to the doctors, he recommened using the Valsalva maneuver, next time I had an episode I used it and it worked.
I have had these episodes after drinking coffee, I have also had them after NOT drinking any coffee, I believe that mine are caused my I compress my midsection in a certain way. I cannot replicate this compression, but in every instance that I had this, I can remember being bent over, or lifting myself up or something like that. I am convinced it is not related to caffeine.
Anyway, if your cardiologist can prove that this is your condition, you have very little to worry about. Just teach yourself how to stop them and you will be fine!! I think your continuing diziness and high heart rate is probably you just stressing out about the incident. If it was a heart attack, your cardiologist or doctor would have told you by now.
