Bump this thread during the All Star break instead. That'll be just as funny.
Today's game will be interesting, my Jays versus your Tigers. Should be an interesting match up!

Heading down to the opening day festivities right now. Gonna be a beautiful day in Cincinnati.Originally Posted by MartyMcFly

Yeah he definately wasn't on his game tonight but 2 ER over 6 isn't bad. I expected him to go longer, but his pitch count after 6 was higher than normal. He can usually go 8 innings, sometimes 9 on a normal Doc day. Oh well, what matters is the win.Originally Posted by StoneGRMI
Definitely. The game was good all the way through and the rust was showing on both sides. Fielding for the Tigers, clutch hitting for the Jays. Game 2 on Wednesday.
That was suprising to me today because it was Glaus that gave the go-ahead run. He killed us late last year when we would be rallying back and he would ground into a double play.Originally Posted by Vinlander
On a positive note, the Bo-Sucks are getting killed and the Spankees got lucky in their game, both are playing against shitty teams.
Dunn Killed it today.Originally Posted by johnmacdan
Also I root for the Jays when Halladay is pitching. Fantasy team.

He needs more K's in fantasy to break top 3 in my opinion.
Baseball is taking up too much of sportscenter now, this sucks, I hope there is a lockout soon. I don't know how people watch a baseball game for 4 hours. 90% of the time it is quite boring.
Don't kill me guys![]()
Where you live, I am going to kill you.
Glaus has always been clutch. His problem is concentration. Like most veterans, he couldn't give a damn unless it's time for the big inning. That's when he digs in.Originally Posted by Hoggage_54
Living in SoCal, we saw plenty of him on the Angels and Diamondbacks to know that much.
I say the same thing about basketball, so I feel you. It's not everyone's cup of tea.Originally Posted by Beefkake31

There's something about running back and forth for a couple of hours and tossing a ball in a hoop that just doesn't "do it" for me. People have the same problem with football (soccer) and they're basically the same principle, except that football is played on a field 6x as large and they're sprinting for 90 minutes without being substituted every quarter. Once you're in, you're in. Period. Now that's hardcore.Originally Posted by Beefkake31
The Mets lineup is good enough to bail the pitching out until Pedro comes back, and playing defense like they did last night doesn't hurt either.Originally Posted by UpstateTank
I called the Mets last year. Their pitching is extremely competitive, as is their lineup (for a National League team). Look for the Mets to be duking it out all season with the Phillies for the top spot in the East.Originally Posted by scottythebody
BTW: LoDuca is the big change here. He was the "quarterback" in Los Angeles, the Man in Florida and he took the Mets to the NLCS. The man's just a big pile of gold with a facemask and some pads.
I remember seeing LoDuca's first game back to Los Angeles after he was traded for essentially nothing (Hee Seop Choi and Brad Penny). The game was on the line in the 9th inning and LoDuca came up to bat. The bullpen had Gagné come out to "Welcome to the Jungle" and it was Gagné (in the middle of his unbroken streak of 80 some-odd saves) vs. LoDuca for the game.
As he stepped to the plate, the crowd was cheering Paulie's name and he was in tears. He had to step out of the batter's box twice just to collect himself. When he drew a walk, the crowd roared in his favor. He ended up being the winning run that game and everyone (to this day) hates Paul DePodesta for ever trading him.
I know a lot of dodger fans that thought they traded away the heart and soul of the team when they got rid of lo duca. He is the perfect guy to have hitting behind Jose ReyesOriginally Posted by Vinlander
I could say the same for many sportsOriginally Posted by Beefkake31
tha jays are scarry....btw I enjoy MLB, and believe me I can sit watch a whole game ..it is never boring, especially when you know about a sport...you will see detailed things that normal people dont see...they only want to see homeruns etc....
Ohhh... I had to bump this.
Cardinals fo life!
I will give it to the Cardinals fans; they've stuck with them over the years. I can't say as much for many teams.
Well when you have won 10 World Series trophies, it's not hard to stay behind your team! We to have very intelligent fans, who are 100 percent behind there Cards..

swept the cards..hahahha
Gustavo Chacin and Justin Verlander. Something tells me Chacin will give up 3 runs and go 6 innings while Verlander will struggle through five and the bullpen will hold the rest.Originally Posted by Hoggage_54

Yeah, I know. I was looking forward to that but at least I get to see the Greinke - Matsuzaka matchup. No one gives Zach any credit.
the METS are on pace for a 162-0 season!![]()
I'm watching that game too, and Zach does look really good. I had never heard of him until this game, and he's got some good stuff, he knows how to hit the corners of the strike zone really well.Originally Posted by Vinlander
Zach Greinke spent most of last season on the DL. Being a Tigers fan, we saw him quite frequently in 2005 and 2004 during his worst seasons with absolutely no run support.
He's got a lot of talent, just in the wrong place.
