i completly forgot about joe horn that is a pretty good pick up for them, big upfront isnt always the best and wont always control in my opinion you need big guys that are strong and can move cause if you just have some big guys upfront that cant move the other team will just run right around you

well the obvious one for the afc would be the patriots, with how they did last year, this years team will have much more talent with all the signings not to mention 2 first round draft picks. then maybe the chargers or even the broncos depending on how cutler plays. shit i would even watch out for arizona, tons of talent on the offense. NFC is so bad but i really cant decide i will have to see how the draft turns out. honeslty i think the falcons have a chance to make a run if we draft well, we have a early 1st and two early second rounders

but man the jets are a team to watch out for in a few years. brick and mangold are gonna be beast up front for years to come, and mangini learned from the best(billicheck(sp?))plus dont forget about vilma

    whos your predictions

ill tell you what mark my words, for fantasy football, DRAFT MARC BULGER, an absolute steal in the 3rd round i would take even in the second. way too much offensive firepower, holt, bruce, jackson(recieving rb), and now drew bennet in the slot.......this is my most fool proof selection in the draft. pick up 2 running backs with your first two picks then go for him in the third

maybe, i think he would be more likely to get the half year suspension, but who knows gidell is trying to crack down on this bs and i respect that....

like i said, it is too early to speculate with 2007-2008 predictions, on april 28 i will be able to give a more accurate answer. with that being said i would have to say the chargers. the broncos made a nice pick up with bly. but if they are trying to solidify the defense, why look to trade al wilson(their best linebacker) to clear up a little cap space. also cutler had glimpses of greatness last season but i dont think he will become a top tier quarterback this season. i really like the pick up of travis henry, and if i play ff i would look for him in the mid to late rounds. the chargers are overall a more talented team. i know the loss of the old coaching staff could have a negative effect. however with all the talent on both sides of the ball it would be hard to mess that team up. the only clear weakness would be they do not have a playmaking wr to stretch the field. jackson looks promising but is more of a possession type receiver. if they could land robert meachem, wr tennessee, that would give them the ability to do that. or even pick up bowe out of lsu.

if they could land one of those receivers in the first round then address a line backer in the second(buster davis would be a great fit) i think that the chargers and the patriots will be the teams to beat in the afc(and probably for the SB)

i hate to say it but the pats are definatly going to be a great team this year with all the offseason pickups and getting rid of corey dillion i think that was a great move let maroney carry the ball more often dillon was getting old and couldnt handle the load anymore

side note*- the pats are going to move to zone blocking this season to better suit maroney's cut back style(now that dillon is gone), whats this mean? EXPECT BIG NUMBERS FROM MARONEY THIS SEASON(as long as he dosent get hurt, he was injury prone in college)

yea there are pluses and minus to it....plus= always fresh legs on the field, also can have a power back and a speed back to switch it up, minus= dosent really allow the rb to get into a grove in the game

What kind of year do you think tomlinson is going to have? Who do you have for the number 2 running back (that's how confident i am that he'll own again.)

i love tomlinson(in a hetero sexual kind of way) he is by far the best back in the league, a complete package(run inside, outside, pass block, and receive), dont expect him to break his own record but he will be the best back in the league.......as far as number two i agree with nyjetsfan completely stephen jackson had a great year last year and is only going to get better, i think he will prove himself at least a top 3 back in the league...also a rb who is gonna have a chance to prove himself will be ronnie brown, after a disappointing season last year he will have a chance to redeem himself this year. the type of offense new head coach Cam Cameron is to run the ball 30 plus times a game, so ronnie will have a lot of chances to make something happen...do not expect him to be a top 3 back but i believe he will have a good year.

I've got maroney as my number two guy, with jackson at 3. I think that reggie bush is going to have a hell of a year as well. That is assuming he plays. I think he'd be making a big mistake sitting out the year. A year off can destroy your career momentum and your development as a player.

maroney and reggie bush are both part of a 2 back team so they are going to be splitting the load not so much maroney as bush but maroney will share the carries with faulk stephan jackson is the guy in st. louis and will get 90% of the carries there

agreed..... but dude man i really think that maroney was a steal in the draft late in the first round, i believe that he will be a star back in this league but i think jackson will have a better year in 2007

yea the falcons will trade for him.....(wishful thinking Hall and Samuel at corner. shutting it down)

in all reality PROBABLY not, unless someone was willing to give up a first round draft choice for him (hope not cause that would give the pats THREE FIRST ROUND DRAFT CHOICES). however that is not terribly unrealistic considering his is a top 5 corner in the league (i think only champ, mccalister, d hall, and old man ronde barber are better, also some would argue that R mathis is better, but i like samuel). it seems like the pats are such in a money spending mood that they should sign him to a big money deal (considering he just hit is prime). however with the outrageous money that nate clements got with his contract im sure samuel is looking for similar numbers and the pats are not willing to spend that type of money on anybody, except maybe brady. so right now samuels fate lies in the hands of other teams cause i dont think the pats will give him the type of money he thinks he deserves.

What do you think about Mike Griffin? Do you think he projects better or worse than Brandon Meriweather? All things considered.

honestly I have brandon meriweather ranked as a much better saftey than griffin. i know his character comes into play(ie. stomping on a players head in the football game) but with all commissioner giddell is doing about character issues, i think it will scare a lot of rookies straight.

griffin just seems too one dimensional to me, kind of reminds me of roy williams. not to say he is not going to be a decent safety but i have meriweather right there will nelson........call me crazy but i think that merriweathers ball hawking skills are EQUAL to that of nelson but merriweather can tackle better. i think he would be an ABSOLUTE STEAL in the second round.

  37. #77
Come-on?? Roy Williams?? Griffin is a MUCH better tackler then Williams.

I'm not sure about Meriweather. I don't think Id take the chance. The head stomping alone doesnt scare me. The "gun battle (legal or not) PLUS the head stomping is a bit too much for me.

I think it will come down to where they land.

Griffin would work really well in NE/Philly/NYJ (IMO), he would likely reach his full potential. (He a four year player, and a honor student @ UT)

Plus Meriweather is a little on the smallish side. 195 is a peanut at the next level. Griffin is up to 210 (and growing).

to each his own i guess, however it is not Griffins tackling i am worried about, it is his coverage skills. i know meriweather plays FS and Griffin is SS but, merriweather is undersized but he can hit. meriweather just comes across as more of a playmaker to me.

the best saftey however will end up on my team(the falcons), laron landry

mark my words (if no outside troubles prevent him from playing) "Meriweather will have a better career in the nfl than Griffin)

I dont agree. I think it all hinges on where they land. I think it is an absolute toss up after Landry tbh.
