I agree with you but I also think the dad did not notice the kid had DS.

Is it justified? Let me put it this way, if someone older and bigger than my daughter kicks her in my presence I will knock him the fvck out, no matter if its a man, woman, teenager, old person, etc... but a "tard"... i don't know, I think i would just push him against the wall or something.

You say that now, but if it actually happened, I don't think logic or rational thoughts would run through your head, your body will take over and your first reaction will be to inflict damage on the person who inflicted damage on your child, IMO.

Most do know right from wrong but some lack the ability to control impulses even if they know that its wrong and there could be consequences.

This is Behavior Mod.101 for the kid with DS. I guarantee the kid with DS will not kick a toddler again with out the association of fear of getting his head knocked in. DS kids have a tough time understanding most things but they do understand the pain principle.

I wouldn't have knocked him out if i'd had time to notice the kid had DS, some of you posters seem to think this makes no difference. I find that really hard to believe. Even the father, after smack the kid to the floor damn hard, seemed to realise the real situation and chilled.

That was a very aggressive reaction by the father but it's justified. The DS kid will think twice about doing that again and the toddler knows that he is protected by the father.
