Sounds a little harsh...Federal government has nothing to do with state laws (pretty sure of this). I don't believe the Feds get involved unless its trafficing....or the DA has a real hard-on for you.

Fisrt thing is get a good lawyer and do not depend on a court appointed lawyer or you will be doing time. If it is really not your roids then take a lie detector test and tell the real story and turn your so called friend in, but if it is really your stuff then here is how it goes.

Stay out of trouble for 7 years and please make sure that you have no misdemeanors and in 7 years get a criminal law attorney can have the felony erased. I can’t speak about felony and the military, but be honest. A college cannot kick you out and employers and colleges cannot discriminate on hiring or refuse to accept you, because of a felony, so you just explain it truthfully.

Tell the lawyer that you’re an addict and you need rehab and the judge may make you go to rehab and give you a fine and with no prior convictions you could end up with just probation and no prison time, but like some county time for several months. I know people that got caught with drugs and several Dui’s and got rehab with probation, because they said, I’m a addict or alcoholic and got off with rehab and probation with maybe a fine and no prison time even with prior convictions and this includes small time drug dealers. Just make sure you have a good lawyer and do not depend on a court appointed attorney and wear a suit for court. You might want to stand with your heels touching and toes pointed outward and if the judge is a freemason then he will be leaning on your side even if you really are guilty and the judge will give you a break.

I don’t know if you got caught on the street buying the stuff, but if you bought the stuff from the internet and got caught then the Customs will give you a warning and warn that they will prosecute if you do it again, but cops won’t give you a warning. I know this from getting busted by customs. Don’t worry about future employment, because you might end up with a felony.

I graduated from the top art college in America and they knew about my old felony that I got from a felonious assault, but they knew about the felony and still accepted me when I knew many people that did not get accepted into that college and they had no criminal felony record.

I thought about teaching and decided not to become an art teacher when some of the inner city schools started closing, and teachers pay was being reduced. I could have got a job teaching as an art teacher from kinder garden up to 12th grade and the school system did not care about the felony as long as the felony was not related to a child. I’ve acted in a movie and soon I’m getting animation internship at a major film studio with a felony on my record, because when asked I have to be ohnest and lying about a felony can cause you to get another felony.

Felonies cannot prevent you from being successful except getting a job related to government, like if you get convicted then you can’t be a cop ever, but you can become a lawyer and a judge. If the roids are not yours then plead not guilty and turn your so called friend in and take a lie detector test and don't accept no pleads if you are innocent.

I am in the forces and when they ask me for criminal record or drug usage I said" If you do a piss test you will probably find marijuana because I smoke some three weeks ago but since then decided to change my life and become a serious a responsible person" I was signing a contract few days later as a officer.

I don't talk to that piece of shit anymore HE DENIES THAT IT WAS HIS!!!! My attorney is going to meet with the prosecutor next month. He's going to try to get my case adjourned like another bro on here mentioned.....I really hope that they would go for that. I would do ****ING ANYTHING for that. Pay any fine, do any community service, take any "drug rehab" class even though this isn't addicting That would be the best...

hey man tough break but it really shouldn't be that bad if you play it right. get a lawyer have a recruiter attend the court date with you, I'm assuming you've been working with a recruiter, and attend some type of anti drug or anti steroid meeting, rally or whatever as a preemptive gesture showing your "serious about turning your life around and getting back on track" Sell your story to your lawyer and he will sell it harder to the judge. Show up to court early dress sharp dont look like a meat head speak when spoken to and yes sir/mam the judge to death you will be good.

I'm 25 years old and was arrested with a bottle of sustanon with 3cc in it. 2cc was used for testing so I'm being charged with possession of a controlled substance (1 count for 1cc a D felony) and possession of a hypodermic syringe (D felony) I've a full time job and I'm a full time student with no prior convictions. I'm trying to finish up school to enlist in the Marines as an officer but a drug charge will really mess me up. I am in Terre Haute Indiana but this happened in Indianapolis What should I expect? A D felony is punishable in this state from 6mon-3 years per D felony so I'm looking at 1-6 years! I'll never cycle again that's for sure. Am I going to get time, a fine, community service, probation? Just nervous. I've consulted a criminal attorney but I'm not sure how much more time the judge will give me to gather funds to pay him and I don't wanna piss her off.

I have never heard of someone being charged with a felony for possesion of a hypodermic????

Best thing is just to try to work a deal. Dont even bother with an attorney at first. Go talk to the prosecutor...see what he is willing to do..you may get PTI. If he isnt willing to budge...then say you need time to get an attorney. Then stay outside of the prosecutors office...watch everyone that goes in...See what attorneys go in over and over again. They all know eachother....these attorneys will generally have the best rapport with the prosecutor...also what you can do is look up the prosecutors name...he may have a practice or had a practice with other attorneys...look these guys up. Basically you want a defender that has a good relationship with the prosecutor. The prosecutor will see that you are feeding money into his industry...that in combination with a good relationship with your defense attorney can really have an impact on what is ultimately left on your record.

Im not sure how much the 'addict' route will get you. I mean its not like you got busted with H. And I really dont think a lie detector is gonna really do a whole lot. Ultimately you still got arrested...so unless you get your arrest exsponged the govt will be able to see that. turning in your friends is just gonna cause more trouble for you.

Exactly. Before I joined the Army I got busted with about 5 grams of weed. When I asked the cop "will this affect my chances to join the Infantry", he just said "Will what affect your chances?" as he dumped it into the ditch. The prosecutors are working a government job, so I am sure that there will be some leeway. Just be sure that you know enough about the Marines to convince them that you are going to join for sure. You CAN still get into the Marines with the record. I have one and I joined the Army. WOuld have joined MArines, but did not have a diploma

Yeah bro money talks. Definitely get a good lawyer. I got in some trouble when I was in college. I had a public defender and ended up with a 3rd degree felony. Even with that alls I got was probation because its my first time. They'll definitley lower your charge but you have to have a good lawyer. Other wise, there like "lets get this guy for what we can". And even if you do end up with a felony you can get it expunged albeit takes 7 YEARS. Only 2 more for me till I can put mine in the past.
