My recommendation is do the cardio on the stair master for 2 weeks if your cardio is lacking then the last 2 weeks before the event train outside rain or shine on hills if possible, stopping at playgrounds to do monkey bar and pull ups thats what i had the wife do anyway..
Thanks for the response. Its nice that you and the wife do these things together.

my shoulders are not as strong as I like so I will be working on them. Plus I like the look of defined shoulders on a gal...clothes just drape better IMO.

I spin 3 or 4 times a week, but running does not come natural to me. (the stair master cardio machine is boring for me, so I thought I would do the stari climber that has the steps....it's a good cardio and resistance combo workout for me

I like the idea of running on trails and have gotten caught in rain and sleet before but I am not a natural runner...I do not run like the wind so I was going to work on my stride too.

pullups...another weaker spot, so I was goining to do P90X for at least 90 days.'

I also would like to drop those last 5 - 7 pounds and thought this event will be just the ticket to push me to a new LOW

unless you are taking test and or consuming 200-300 g protein in a day everyday you will not.. what it does increase mitochondria count and capability,

example my wife lost 2" on her inner thigh doing just this type of training.. 125g protein per day 135lbs 5'9"..
