Here is where Dimes is getting his information from,

I thought it was important to put his information in context, since he would not divulge the source.

Anyway, hunting is necessary. Each environment has a carrying capacity and once that carrying capacity is breached, bad things happpen. Animals stave due to lack of food, disease spreads, and the whole environment is basically worse off. Just a few years ago here in Iowa, there was a massive overpopulation of deer which led to "blue tongue disease." There were thousands of deer that suffered because of this and it was all due to overpopulation. EVERY YEAR in this state alone, there are over 140,000 deer killed anually. But each year, there is always a crapload of deer because their reproductive success is so high. Could you image what would happen if deer hunting wasnt allowed for just one year?????Hunting is necessary buddy. I suggest you do some research in ecology or environmental management before you react just for the sake of reacting.

I will agree that killing domestic animals is wrong, but hunting wild game.....I dont think so
Yeah I agree w/ iowa -- some tre hugging hippie propaganda

I dont see anything wrong with hunting as long as your smart about it and know how to take a quick kill. The people that really piss me off are the ones that want to ban guns because "all they do is kill."

Yes, Im sure the criminals who don't mind owning an illegal firearm will feel very safe knowing that law abiding citizens like myself and many others cant defend ourselves.

So let me get this straight. The criminals that commit crimes with guns such as murder, robberies etc. Would stop committing these crimes if we where to ban guns? Thats using your head man First off if they are going to commit a crime like murder which last time I checked is against the law, then I think they would have no problem breaking the lessor law of owning or carrying a weapon.

Gun ban supporters argue that because criminals and madmen use these firearms to commit some crimes, honest citizens must surrender them. Banning guns because criminals use them is telling the law-abiding that their rights and liberties depend not on their own conduct but on the behavior of the lawless. It tells honest citizens that they have only such rights and liberties as criminals will allow

We need to ban silverware because people are fat. Just think, if we could pass an assault-utensile ban people would stop dying of heart-problems!

Not scared of anything in particular, but If someone was to come to my house and try to break in, they would have a hard time leaving with 20 rounds of .308 in them... It is a basic right that this country allows law abiding citizens, and I am proud to be able to have that right. Therefore I am a gun owner, and I enjoy hunting.

Firearms are also one of the reasons why we don't have a king. Sounds like you have a nice collection going Jdawg.
