I'm more of a beige cargo shorts and polo type of guy in the summer. And by the way... Even though I am dark skin I'm still human. Yes the sun gives me a tan to and I get tan lines. If you're good looking I might even show you. I'm amazed at the number of white people who are shocked when I tell them I tan. They say, "you can tan???"

My best friend Is half black half indian and he still tans at tanning salons sometimes and if he stays outside when its hot all day he does kinda burn. One girl at a tanning salon looked at him like.........are you serious....LMAO. We both started laughing at her like she was crazy.

One year I went back to back from Puerto Rico to Saint Croix to Jamaica to Miami. By the time I got back I was BURNT!!! I was a crispy kritter. That's when I got all of the silly comments from white people. "WOW you have a REALLY dark tan." "I didn't know you could get darker." "You have tan lines???!!!!!" And my favorite "Why would you want to get darker?"

I live in NYC and there are plenty of *colored* people who go to tanning salons. I go sometimes. You and your friend must live in a small town because in NYC they don't even give me a 2nd look.
