So far Brady. No real start recievers after Moss left so he is doing it on his own. Of course getting Logan Mankins back was the difference maker. Too bad he won't be back next year.

HAHAHAHAHA! I'm not that old. Only film! Anyway, Jim Browns accomplishments were done during a 14 game season and in only 9yrs. His avg yards per carry are still the greatest in history. And his 12K yards stood for over 20yrs. It wasn't until the NFL extended the season that his record was broken. There has never been a more dominant offensive force in the game...and there never will.

Can't say Brady. He's a total system quarterback. Not taking anything away from his ability. But put Tom in any other system and he isn't nearly as effective.

i am going to have to go against you here. not saying he is the best, but he is one of the top. look at his college career and how he had to fight to win the starting job year in and year out. the guy just performs! so are you saying that he couldn't fit into another system and win? what is your logic to this? he is smart, accurate, and plays the game hard.

for a passer/pocket quarterback...yes top notch and am a fan...

but for this thread...i would think you would need to be able to be more of a scrambler and/or be able to make something happen on your own...i dont remember brady being able to do this...maybe i'm wrong? idk....like i said...big fan and a fan of accurate quarterbacks, etc.
but i was always impressed and afraid of qb's like steve young and randall cunningham when my team was playing them

i agree with passer/pocket qb. its hard to compare football from the 60s/70s to that game they play today, totally different schemes. back in the day, all about moving the rock on the ground, now, toss it down the field.

In the history of football, there have been many good players. Some however stand out as the greatest ever.

Barry Sanders made it look so easy. He produced behind a sh*ty offense. He would disappear in a pile and the next thing you know, he was running it in for a TD. For you younger guys, do yourself a favor and Youtube him. He was smart enough to walk away from the game healthy. Watch out for Barry Sanders Jr, he just committed to Stanford. He will be in the NFL in 3 years..... can't wait.

For me, the most impressive player ever is Barry Sanders, because he was able to make his nome part of any conversation for the best runner ever while playing his entire career for a terrible team. All the other great runners had great offensive lines.

Virtruvian, don't you think Emmit smith had as much to do with the Cowboys success during the Aikman years as Aikman? Smith holds just about ever rushing record that there is.
100% Agree. To be called the greatest at anything, you MUST SURPASS THE TEST OF TIME. Otherwise, your just a one or two season wonder.

Bo Jackson claimed to never lifted weights? Damn, wish I had his genetics then. I saw him play A-ball for the Royals (rookie league) in Baseball City, FL . His arms were so big, he had to cut the bottoms of his uniform shirt sleves, because they were too tight.

was a big fan of herschel when he came to play with the cowboys...could run and catch, etc. but never made a huge impact or like stated above definitely career cut short ...i think bo made a lil bigger impact in his short career..i think he was more powerful
