i suggest u re-read this quote periodically to remind urself of what ur doing this (cut) for..

    2. i suggest u decide if u want to commit to 30days without a cheat and then do it. period.

    3. i suggest u learn from this time and do what u have to do next time to stick to ur diet. i started my cut this time last year. my birthday was 2 weeks into my cut and i had no party and no cake! (i will be having it this year)

    4. ur a smart dude. i have faith in ur resourcefulness when it comes to how to stick to ur diet.

Haha bascially I need to stop being a little bitch. Your mentoring methods are harsh and effective. I cant argue with them.

So next time, as awkward as it may seem, I'm going to half to lug food with me when I go to events. Its the only way to ensure that I won't have to have cheat foods. I really thought I would "be able to make something work" when I went to that BBQ.

On a postitive note I have hit my cardio and diet perfectly so far this week. I know its only day 2, but I'm on it. The week really isn't a challenge for me. The weekends however, I'm going to have to get creative.

The first 2 or 3 months are where u need to be the strictest. Remind urself when u get to ur desired bf% there will be a fair amt of room for allowances.

Put in the work now and u will see what im talking about.

I believe you. Going to come here everyday to keep myself in check. I'm 29 fricken years old and have been over weight since high school. I basically blew my 20's. Need to get this accomplished before my birthday next July. Will be here everyday to stay movtivated. I read most of the new threads in the nutrition section yesterday. And then I went off on some tangent and typed, "why was arnold the best" into google and read for 2 hours HAHA

Good day! I'm still alive and STILL morbidly obese. Going to get some batteries for my scale at home and start weghing myself before I leave for the gym. The one at work (I work at a hospital) is great but weighing myself fully clothed and sometimes with a gallon of water in my belly is too inconsistent.

405 are we going to build me a bulking diet after I cut down to where I need to be? What BF do you think is reasonable to get down to before bulking back up?

On target for diet today. I have to make an adjustment to my lunch and was hoping to get a large chicken salad from downstairs at work. I fear they wont have a dressing suitable so I may have to go for a drive and get some chicken and green beans somewhere. (chipotle or the like)

Whew, busy busy. Missed my post yesterday and was out of town all weekend. I did, however hit all my macros over the weekend. Wasn't able to squeeze any cardio on saturday though. Got my scale working and will be weighing myself without clothes immediately upon waking up. This should be as accurate as it gets.

Thanks 405. I'm actually more excited about getting the fat down, not because I will look a million times better, but because I want to see what happens when I eat properly and with a surplus rather than a deficite.

Being having to go in for a few vaccinations because I'm leaving the country in 2 weeks. This is the last of them until I go back in 6 months for a follow up. Still making my weights though. Back on cardio in the AM.

I thought it was awesome. ESPECIALLY in situations like the one recently where you told the guy to eat cheese burgers and fries LOL He then told you that judging by your avi that must be what you eat. It was hilarious to me because I actually knew what you look like and that you know your shit.

Also, I am attempting to get my girlfriends macros at least mapped out until I learn more about the female diet. Would LBMx15 be ok for her? Or should I adjust that?

LOL yeh that was funny and kinda the point of me posting the avi. i like to encourage confrontation on occasion!

with ur GF. LBM x 15 would be fine IMO to start. u may have to adjust up or down depending, but thats the same for everyone.

At first I was writing it all off as water weight. I guess I'm a believer now. I'm becoming addicted to the am cardio now. Definitely going tomorrow.

I don't even want to talk about how crazy my weekend went and I'm certainly not going to detail how bad my diet got screwed off on sunday. This week I'm preparing for my 6 day cruise that I leave for Friday night, but I have every intention of making my cardio and weights for the rest of the week. I also missed my cardio yesterday morning. Considering that I only gained .6 pounds, I'm not devastated about the whole ordeal. ESPECIALLY considering the crap I ate sunday.

    Cheers!

I know I'm not going to be able to eat perfectly on the cruise, but I will combat that with trying to make morning cardio sessions and afternoon weights on as many days as possible. I will also be bringing some of my own food. Don't worry, I WILL eat a moderate amount of tasty stuff while on the ship, I'm not going to ruin my whole experience to stave off a few % in body fat that I can easily get rid of in 2 weeks after the cruise.

Wtf is going on?? I didn't do my weights last night in favor of working on my next weeks homework, so I don't come back to a ton of work. I also didn't make the cardio this morning, yet I'm losing weight? I'm starting to get scared that its LBM. Is this a possibility?

    not very likely.

    blood glucose
    muscle and liver glycogen
    body fat
    muscle

    this is the order

why would ur body say to itself "self, i think im gonna skip over the blood glucose, muscle glycogen, and body fat i prefer to burn first and lets just start burning muscle for energy! yeh this sounds like a good idea..??""

ur being paranoid.. keep ur protein high and u should be fine dude.. how is ur strength?

Haha ok got it. I guess mathematically it just doesn't make sense for me to be losing weight while not exercising, but I guess thats the power of a proper deficit. I think in the past I've cut too many cals and my metabolism slowed as did my progress. This time, my metabolism is maintained, and every day there is a calorie deficit so my body is eating the fat off my ass.

It still doesn't equal 3500 calories per day

See ya 405, this may be my last post before leaving. And after checking international rates for using my cell phone, I probably won't post again until I get back.

    Well I'm back!

Had a blast. Went to Key West, Cayman Islands, and Jamaica. They were all great except maybe Jamaica because the locals would not get out of your face trying to sell you stuff. They were essentially begging for money.

The boat went great and I worked out only one day. It was just too unrealistic to make it to the gym as often as I wanted. I also ate whatever looked good, not what was "healthy". To be honest there were almost no choices that could be considered "healthy" anyway. I ate 4-5 soft serve cones a day and litereall grabbed food as I walked by the buffet, whether I was hungry or not! On more than one occasion I thought I was going to throw up after dinner because I ate too much. I also drank gallons of alcohol, had 2 entrees with each dinner, and never skipped dessert.

It was amazing. I was literally exhausted from eating towards the end of the trip LOL. After day 2 I just said f*ck it, I'm eating everything. So you wanna know what the damage was after all that? Well:

6.4 pounds. I expected 20! I can't complain, had a lot of fun, and lived without rules or diet restrictions for 7 straight days. I needed that. Never been on a vacation in my life. Too bad I came home with a cold... Looks like I won't be in the gym for even longger than I expected.

Anyway, I'll start posting my stats again when I am no longer sick and get back to the grind. See ya!
