Besides reading the label, how do you seperate the protein from the fats you are eating ? i am just courious ? Because a lot of protien and fat are mixed ?

Other than trying to keep your calories up why are you so much more into ingesting fat as opposed to protein ?

    late update

Sorry for the lack of update, I've been busy with mid terms and personal stuff (and still am)!

FOOD: I was constantly on the move and could not eat as much. Still hit above 2000 every day and still hit the gym!
I had ONE cheat meal, which was a small bowl of rice with natto and soy sauce. Couldn't resist lol, and lack of sleep didn't help. Ketone level was fine the morning after.

HEALTH: I have no GI symptoms whatsoever I also have not caught a single cold since I started the diet. You might think a month or two without a cold is normal, well, not normal for me at all.

BULK: The scale says 57kg, which is my all-time heaviest. (+5,6 lb from initial 120lb). I was supposed to measure BF% today to figure out if I gained fat or lean mass, but unfortunately I didn't have access to the device. Hopefully I can post an update on BF next week.
I will also take my measurements and pics soon.

For now what I can tell for sure is my front delts and rear delts are getting more defined, and the outer thighs get rock hard when I tense my legs (which feels way different than before), although I think I did gain some fat on the inner thighs..

TRAINING: all is well. I'll do higher reps for 2 weeks or so from now, then go back to 5RM range.

You must be looking forward to measurements and pics! Exciting to see the body respond to diet and training! Good luck with midterms!

    Angry shit happens

In this update there will be good stuff and bad stuff.

I finally got to measure my BF. Turns out im at 16.2% haha

Too much food is too much food, whether carb or fat after all.

With those numbers, from the 6 lbs I gained in 1 1/2months, 3.2 would be muscle and 2.8 would be fat… not too good a ratio I find. Maybe(definitely) 2500 was excessive for my stature. lol

Still, 4.4 lbs of muscle on insignificant doses of steroid. idk if that's average gain for women?

    Enough with (very unreliable) numbers:

    latsssss
personally I do think I gained some fat around the thighs, but nowhere else. Aren't my abs getting more defined? like, I dont know where that +1.2% fat is located.

Also my triceps are getting too big compared to biceps… maybe just my eyes.

Now for the thing that really sucks: I have to start doing heavy cardio. My gym teacher suddenly decided that everybody has to do like, a LOT of HIIT. 75 min/WEEK. I know by experience that I wont be able to go through that even if I did eat carbs. That guy is just evil for real and will exceptionally allow me to do super long steady state cardio instead of HIIT… yeah right, how about I keep having a life.

This is why I haven't been updating after midterms… Been trying to figure out for a while how to get around this obstacle, but I finally resigned myself to halt the bulk experiment for now to resume later.
Besides, maybe it's around time for me to start cutting too.
Considering that any mass gain will be easier to tell without a layer of fat over it, cutting will prepare me for the main experiment right? (<-just forcing myself to see the less crap side of things)

It sucks because I was just starting to see results and could have made some adjustments to fine tune this from now on. I'm not over with this, since 6 weeks results are far from being conclusive. I'd really really like to go on this whole low carb animal based diet bulk thing in the near future. I already have an idea of some of the things I'd do differently next time around.

I feel bad for you guys who kindly subbed.. sorry! In 2-3 months from now I plan to resume on this thread or start another. Or… is anyone interested in seeing my cutting progress until then?

I gave myself a break from eating so much during the weekend. Ate around 1800 cal on both sat&sun.

My gym teacher is telling me I'm doing my diet and workout all wrong. When I told him I'm avoiding carbs, he actually face-palmed and said ''NOOO! THATS MISTAKE NUMBER ONE!!!''

I don't know what he meant by number one, but he said that.

This morning he sent me a link to my email and the page was about why you should choose precious fiber and grains over the atkins diet. Had a good laugh.
Now I wonder what kind of face he'd make if I told him I eat close to 3000mg cholesterol a day. The clown would tell me that I'm dying.

BuzzardMarinePumper: to answer your question as to why I'm interested in eating fat more than protein, well- I was trying to raise my blood ketone levels (to make energy from fat), and to do that I had to avoid raising my blood glucose levels. Since any extra protein is converted into glucose I was eating only enough meat to get my amino acids and such in order to avoid that conversion.

I am ot qualified to say your statement is incorrect ? But From my actual research at 54 going from a $hit diet and 6 ft 266 lbs to 219 lbs in 5 mths and then training and still at target not exact 60% protein 25 % fat 15 % carbs at 6 mths I leveled off with FAT lose and 14 mths later was at 240 lbs and no idea of exact bf% other than obvious changes in body like from a 40 in waist to at 266 lbs to a 36 waist at 219 lbs to a 34 in waist at 240 lbs IMHO, all the right things and proper splits to loose fat and shrink fat cell then slowly add a little muscle and still loosing fat on possibly an even higher pretein ratio than I think .

Oh and honestly I am tyoe II diabetic and had no idea that Protein was converted to Glucose ? I was under the impression the it was the source for size in muscle growth ?

I may have seemed confrentational ? I am not smart enough to argue with you and have no desire to. Just seemed all your principles were 180* from everything I have lerned and I was your age many years ago , lol . . . remember ? I was very impressed with your dedication and the stats you kept and at your age keep it up you will do good in life period !

I'm very happy to hear your opinion on fat's changed.
My eyes bleed everytime I see a girl doing low fat. What do they live off, the oil in skin lotion? (jk)
Come to think of it, women (and bodybuilders) are always the first ones to try suspicious pharma products and extreme diets arent they? feminist issues ahah.

anw thanks GG, you the best. you can expect my next run to begin in july.

    stay well
