No we shouldn't and I hope to God we don't.
Will we ? No. Should we? No. We would kill too many innocent people.Originally Posted by notus

I'd have to say after reading all this $hit going on over there i don't support the war. Saying that i still 100% respect and support the troops that are over there dying for me/us.
Do you think their nuclear intent is innocent? There is a chance they want nuclear bombs to kill us... right?

I could care less if we found nuclear weapons are not. Without a doubt in my mind they are trying to produce them. These people look at use like scum and want to get rid of us.Originally Posted by notus
So i would say hands down i know these people are trying to produce them to kill us.
I really don't know that much about them but I was talking to my brother and he said for the most part the Iranians are relatively "American friendly" but their leadership is not. In fact Iranians are not Arabs but Persian and there is a different culture between the two. Irans leadership is arab and it tends to be more aggressive.

Yes I know it is a risk, but any country that can even develop a nuclear weapon must first get it somewhere since the ICBM technology is more difficult to master than building a nuke itself. Plus, I'm sure any country knows that if you nuke someone... you're going to get turned into a lake of glass so you better be fking ready, and at that point there isn't shit the global community can say because that is pretty much the ultimate of ultimates as far as loss of life.Originally Posted by notus
Even though they're fundamentalist Islamics... why shouldn't other countries be able to use nuclear power? Besides, short of war we can't stop them because they can just keep selling oil. If we did go to war, it would put us deeper in debt, take more lives, and make all those other countries hate us even more... then you can probably bet your ass someone will detonate a nuke in the US one day.
Hope not. USA should really tone down the aggression and focus on building and recovering relationships.
It is sad to see a country that was so respected for being a model society suddenly become so conservative, fearful, bitter and withdrawn.
I understand 9/11 can be seen as the reason, but you cannot recover from this by killing everthing that appears to threaten you.
This is a downward spiral that is playing right into your enemies hands.
It is now time for the US to get rid of Bush and find a strong secure leader to lift you out of this negative spiral you are in.

Newbreed, I was in the Navy and primarily did indication and warning for my battlegroup. The main part of my job was studying the countries of interest and their military capabilities. I don't believe what you're thinking of is the same as myself. The Government of Iran, while extreme in some cases, isn't entirely stupid. The people you talk too and their views may be incredibly biased and based off of ignorance and yes they'd probably use a nuke if they could, but they wouldn't be the ones in charge of the nuke. While these countries like to flaunt their disrespect to the US and show nothing but lack of cooperation, they're still very much concerned with self-preservation and wouldn't sentence themselves to death by giving nukes to a few uneducated goat herders that have been brainwashed to kill Americans.
the US need a good president ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER would get my vote if indeed he ran
HAHAHA

The US needs to tone down its rhetoric and start being more friendly..
Since BUSH took office the US has lost tons of influence in the world.
We are still 12x times the size of the second largest economy in the world, BUT..
all the developing world are now considered emerging markets..
They're BOOMING in development, and Yes alot of that money is rich americans investing there.
More money going there, than staying here.
We might not feel any poorer today than we did 8 years ago.
BUT The rest of the world feels 20 times richer today than they did 8 years ago..
THAT is the real effect of the IRAQI war, and BUSH's policy..
I am not saying that any of this is good or bad..
cause its not..
If you are a smart person, it does not really matter to you which country is richer than the other, all you want to know is where the money is, so u can make some, and where its safe, so you can move your family there.
But all that said, its not a good time to be making tons of enemies everywhere in my opinion.
il second that, people need to learn to get along and i think education is the way forward/if everyone was on the same page and working towards a common goal/educated to the same basic level/class was scrapped and people made to feel like people again we would all be better off.we vote the people into power who take us to war-if we simply said no with one educated voice these people could not do it.we are the mass they are the majority-think the next time we go to the polls, where will that person lead us !Originally Posted by Pooks
Since when should the US care what others think of them? The US has been helping the world for many decades. Many other world powers don't do dick to help the world. It's not the BUSH policy, it's the American policy. Why is everyone trying to come to America? America does NOT take over countries and colonize them; the only land America has kept is where WE have buried our soldiers that have died on foreign lands to free those people!Originally Posted by Pooks
Good point, I was in sri lanka when the tsunami hit and I remember how mad they got when americans didn't respond quick enough. Or during the elections when India was mad because we might not outsource to them as much. Sometimes I think that they do not really see how much we do help.

even the canadian dollar is on the equal footing as the american dollar, we get no discounts there anymore.
All these little economies are growing equal or bigger to ours,,(now yeah we still are 12x bigger than the next one.. either GERMANY or JAPAN i forget) but I say we need to start mending some fences thats all. Rebuild credibility.
Cause they'll take it out on us, once they can lol
why the hell you gonna bomb iran?
you mean iraq, we did already, it just pissed them off by the time we got there everyone was shooting at us cause we blew up someone they knew, it imo was really a extreme show of force which the airforce dropped then went home and us infantry got slammed in the beginning
It's not always about money.Originally Posted by Pooks

My thing with mending fences is that the countries that are bitching about the US are doing nothing to help anyone. They are as useful as the U.N.
I've had my fill of soulders being lost in the sand..... That being said, a war with Iran would'nt resemble the mess that has been made in Iraq. We have become peace keepers in Iraq, seperatiing a civil war. There is nothing to be won there.

I agree, we have all had our fill of our soldiers being killed, but if you look at our previous wars the numbers are extremely low.Originally Posted by Titan 3

It sucks to have anyone killed, but this war must be completed. If we left now Iran and Syria will take over and imagine all the people the will be killed. Just like Khmer Rouge leader Pol Pot in Cambodia, 2,000,000 deaths.
No, I meant Iran. I read in a couple of places that Mr. Bush is preparing to do so. He is asking to send more troops to Iraq because of the uprising it could cause in Iraq after we bomb Iran. He was looking to bomb over 1000 military sites in Iran.
