Mma Fighters...
what do you think those guys are using to feel NO FEAR !!!
hypnosis? cocaine?
don't believe that arrived to this point they feel no fear before their fights !!! when some of them arrive on the ring they look like they are somewhere else,as if they were hypnotized !!
I know there is a lot of concentration but what else?

IM an old fighter, you always feel fear, however not from being hit but from being defeted.
When you enter the ring itīs like when you are going to try and make a new PB in the squat rack, you shut everything out exept the task at hand.

The UFC drug tests, don't they? Some guy got popped for gear not too long ago. I think it is all just a mindset. I wrestled for many years, and did a little fighting when I was young and stupid. All I was afraid of was losing, when it came time to go. The moments leading up to the match were pretty damn scary, though.

Why does it seem like someone is trying to make MMA look bad? I mean it's THE ultimate fighting "sport" out there. If it ever get's sanctioned and the public get's more exposure and education it WILL be the next big thing. I mean they pay millions to watch Tyson get jacked up by Lewis and all they can do is punch and clinch. I ordered the fight and it was BORING. True, those guys are all tough and in shape and all that but they are only fighting with three things....hands, heart, and mind (mind seems optional). Even Muay Thai is limited in they don't do take downs. Sport Jiu-Jitsu they don't strike. In NHB/MMA it's all thrown together. You have to be proficient in all those aspects to be successful. These guys train HARD. I would venture to say harder than some top boxers in any weight class. Why? Because you have to train in Muay Thai/Boxing/wrestling/BJJ and be able to keep it up for rounds that could last 5 minutes or more. When you compete at any level and want to be successful you have to be focused at the job at hand. Whether it be UFC or table tennis...you have to be mentally prepared. Look at boxers...they do the stare down. The basketball players that shut out the loud crowd and stuff at the free throw line...they are focused. Hell...even the WWE wrestlers are focused on their job despite all the crowd noise and flashes and all that. So to say MMA/NHB fighters are jacked up on drugs or something is insulting to the fighters, fans and to the people involved in general.
Trust me though...I'm not saying MMA/NHB doesn't have people that use drugs whether recreational or for "performance enhancment" but that's most likely prelevent in most professional sports. Look at the Olympics for heavens sake!!! Pro bike riders are always doing something it "seems". Football? Need I say more....even baseball it seems has people using drugs...(Strawberry? ) or AAS or whatever. Drugs are everywhere if you believe the media.
Anyone that has competed in a "fighting" event will tell you they are "scared" or nervous. It's natural unless the outcome is predetermined and the match is worked. Anyone that say's different is most likely just using a little bravado. But there are those super Alpha males out there that may not be afraid of anything and there are those that can hide that feeling in the heat of competition. I think that the fighters in all the combat sports have thier "fear" in check and they show it when it's fight time.
Just my dime.

Good post Valetudo, can you agree with me that stare downs in boxing is abit boring after 2mins?
Thoughest and most fun sport to watch is K1 fights!!! Unlike boxing these guys NEVER clinch the fight til they drop (literaly).

I was a wrestler too padawan
ALso, have to disagree with ya'll about mma fighters doing coke. I don't think there's anyway someone could get into the ring after doing some coke. YOu need to focus as much as possible and coke would prevent that.
