Milwaukee Brewers
Growing up, I played baseball every single summer until high school. I kept close tabs on the Brewers and enjoyed watching Yount, Molitor, Cooper, etc. My dad would take me a game every summer during this time period.
I continued to follow the Brewers but saw a trend I didn't like. Milwaukee would develop a star and then he would leave. As team salaries got worse, so did this pattern. The Brewers had become a farm team for the major markets.
Well...I'm going to be bored as hell at work, this spring and summer, without NFL football to chat about. I figured I might as well try to get back into watching Brewers baseball. Brewers Owner Mark Attanasio appears to be slowing trying to turn the franchise around in the money ball era.
All baseball fans are welcome. I didn't put Official because I'm going to be just getting back into following the Brewers more closely again.

Espn.com must need to update their depth chart. There is no way that I would have Cappy as fifth in the rotation. If he hadn't tanked so bad, the Brewers would have won the division. I'm surprised that he is still around after the season he had.

They have some really good young players. Braun and Fielder are two of the the best.
Caps a decent pitcher if he ever gets healthy.

I bet they'd be a better team if they were still playing in the AL..
competing against minnesota and cleveland... ...
they should just move KC to NL,,, n put the brewers in the AL

No thanks. AL central is brutal enough without Milwaukee in it. LOL! They have a good team though. I wouldn't be surprised to see them in the playoffs this year. I've always liked the Brewers, similar small market team like Cleveland. Plus they filmed Major League at the old County Stadium, so you gotta love that!

They're a good upcoming team that should be a playoff team if everyone stays healthy. Especially Ben Sheets.

Fox Sports writers have your Brewers sitting good at 12th for their pre-season power rankings and they got my boys at #1! The Tigers are going to be good but I still think the Red Sox deserve to be at the #1 spot...for now.

The AL Central is ridiculous.

They would be competing with two teams that are closer to their team salary. The Cubs are closing in on $100 million: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/teams/salaries?team=nyy

"How should the Brewers use Carlos Villanueva?" http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/index.jsp?c_id=mil
I think that he should be a starter.

Brewers up 3-0 over the A's...bottom of 1st inning. Is there any better way of following the spring training games at work? http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/scoreboard

Did they, normally, not have a box score for spring training games?

If u can have a earpiece at work,,, u can listen to the games live.. for $15 for the year.

this is the MLB live scorebox, might be better than the ESPN one..

Too many people come to my desk for me to subscribe and use an earpiece.
A member on another site gave me this site for box score: http://mlb.mlb.com/news/boxscore.jsp...akmlb_milmlb_1
Same one as yours. Thanks. Go Brewers!

watching espn today and a couple of the guys agreed that Cubs are going to be the team to beat in the central....100 years since we won the world series- we'll win it this year....Fukudome seems to be legit so far into spring training, alfonso soriano, derek lee, aramis ramirez, theriot (THE RIOT!) is proving himself to be a good ball player....if we could have just grabbed someone to play center- they're talkin about bringing in the orioles Brian Roberts to play 2nd base....Mark DeRosa also was playin well last year, and he's a utility, give Ramirez some rest @ third- cuz everyone knows he needs it throughout the season....only weak spot i see is center field....they were talking nothing but good things about Felix Pie (Pee-A)....i've yet to see much from him but disappointment

oo yeh, and i don't have much confidence in our pitching.....we get rid of Mark Prior finally- and watch him have another 20 win season with San Diego....those bitches...

Yeah, I saw that he had given up three runs in an inning. Since I was watching the game by internet box score, I wasn't sure if it was a full or partial inning. Either way he was the worst on a bad day of pitching for the Brewers. Bush got hammered with a grand slam in the first inning.

Derek Lee did not hit with the power that I expected last year. IMO, he had a down year and needs to get the home runs back up to help the Cubs out.
I heard Fukudome got hit by a pitch already. Several Cub fans, on another site, were fuming over it.
Your closer situation is still a question mark. The last I heard, Wood was scheduled to be the closer. Who knows how he will hold up or if he will adjust to his new role.

Richie Weeks has been striking out a lot this spring training so far. If he wants to be the leadoff hitter, he needs to get the bat on the ball. Weeks is a good base stealer so, hopefully, the batting coach can help him.

P Ben Sheets pitched two scoreless innings, today, against the Rockies. He did allow any hits either.
Brewers dropped the game, though (3-6).
