Vitamin E for stretch marks, Swallow or Apply?

What is more effective swallowing pills of vit E or applying directly to the skin (affected areas; stretch marks, scars, pimples, and such)?

I'm doing both to prevent new stretch marks. I just can't find a direct answer out there, add any personal experieces if you have 'em. I also have other products but I just really want to know about this. Also any links would help. Thanks!

There have been a variety of threads on this subject (stretch marks) and I really don't think there is much you can do to prevent stretch marks.

Let me know if you need more information

Vitamin E does work, better than cocoa butter, but you can use both

strange as this may sound, but i've heard stretch marks are more from skin hormonal levels than anything else.

when you get right down to it, how is it a topical application of oil (vit E) will penetrate and soften/lubricate the skin enough to make it pliable and resistant to permenant stretch marks? topical applications are just that, on the surface.

I used vitamin e oil post surgery. I got a high iu dose from the health food store and rubbed into postop incision scars. My 11 inch scar is down to 7 inches or less and looks more like a line in my skin than a gnarly scar.

I've tried it... Didnt get very good results tho... I've started putting lavender mineral oil on every time I get out of the shower, then wait 30min or so and use a dry towel to rub the excess off. Since starting this I haven't really gotten anymore stretch marks and they haven't gotten worse. Plus you look way more ripped with a little glisten lol

I'll try to find the bottle to see exactly what the label said. I do remember it having more vitamin e than the other vit e oils. Was also very thick almost the consistency of honey.

    just wanna get back here,
I've used vit e oil before and after gym and after showers
basically what you want is to moisten the skin so it's elastic enough to bounce back
my stretch marks stopped getting any bigger
DISCLAIMER: it's only effective for developling stretch marks (red/pink color) , not for old ones.

From what I've read, you live with your stretch marks, nothing helps.. But maybe you get peace of mind from putting Vit E on them, who knows.
