ALCAR is more suited for oral absorbtion and has slightly different properties regular carnitine is only worthwhile injected.
I've read that acetyl L-carnitine & L-carnitine taken together is better. But i just stick too Alcar.
thanks a lot for the answers![]()
l-carnitine is more for the muscles whil Acetyl l carnitine is more for mental thing with some physical benefits as well.
They are both the same thing, however one has been modified for superior oral use.Originally Posted by NewBreed
mostly yes and and slightly no. acetyl-l-carnitine is definitely superior for oral use, but it also has own distinct and indepenent activity (different from carnitine)- as well as being an acetyl-group and carnitine donorOriginally Posted by Giantz11
i take acetyl l-carnitine because i have read atleast 5 different articles on how it is better than regular l-carnitine.
Both are somewhat similar in what they do. However, Acetyl-L-Carnitine is more readily used by the body as it easily crosses the blood brain barrier. This allows it to be more easily and quickly absorbed by the brain and converted to energy. It's often taken to enhance cognitive function, and is also often taken as people begin to age to prevent degeneration of the brain. It also help boost cellular energy and as antioxidant effects. So between the two, ALCAR is more readily absorbed by the body and more easily used.
