    Supplement industry's self regulation

I've seen Macrophage and Giantz11 post their opinions regarding the fact that they don't believe certain legal AAS should be sold over the counter due to them being dangerous compounds that don't have much research behind them, and the fact that young and/or ignorant people will hurt themselves by using these compounds. To a degree I agree with this, but don't you think that the supplement industry should be trusted to regulate itself? Granted, these companies are in it to make money, but I also think they have a huge interest in producing relatively safe products, so as to avoid lawsuits and criminal prosecution. Maybe I'm being naive. Any opinions?

You expect the supplement industry to self regulate themselves. Have you seen the pharmacutical industry lately? Where there is money to be made, you cannot expect any company to give a damna bout your well being.

Well, if all they care about is money, don't you think they'd be fearful of lawsuits which could cost them alot of money?

they ARE fearful of lawsuits which is why they have little chemists working in a lab inventing new steroid analogs to the ones that have already been banned on the schedule, then fda investigates and regulates and the chemists starts doing thier homework again, its a game of cat and mouse and we are the guinea pigs.

none of these companies have insurance or assets, most of them will just fold and start over like matpal did when those women had liver failure.

just to clarify, its not like these guys are doing anything innovative. All thats happening is they are taking compounds from VIDA's androgens and anabolic agents (circa 1960's) and getting the chinese to try and properly synthesize them (as many have seen this is done with varying degrees of success).

these compounds have only the most basic AR testing done on them (done 40-50 years ago with a test that has since been discarded as innacurrate)....
