I would think a protein shake with the lowest amount of carbs. I like Labrada Lean Body shakes.

You want a slow release protein so that your body gradually absorbs the protein through your sleep. I hit up Otimum Pro blend. Go with something like egg/caseinate(spelling)

ditto to what Pheedno said. Casein is a great slow digesting protein that will fuel your body with amino's throughout the night. I just ordered some night formula from the Protein Factory, I'll let you know how it taste when I get it. I have been eating cottage cheese before bed as of now, I mix it(about a 1/2 cup) with a scoop of whey, and 1/2 Tbsp of Flax oil, it's good to have some Fiber to help push that through your digestive tract so I add less than a 1/4 cup of Fiber one cereal in as well- it's really tasty BTW.

Something with chunks of chicken in it. Thats my way of saying I prefer food before bed, not a shake that will last an hour.

Pro blend is good stuff and it tastes great too. Pure egg protein is a good choice also. Anything slow released is good

I don't like to go to bed after eating real food. I have a hard time sleeping when I do.
