Ephedrine HCL

This may be an ignorant question, but is ephedrine HCL the same as the ephedrine that was banned in the U.S. in '04? If so, how can it be sold by so many over the internet? I only ask because I wanted to get some ephedrine for an ECA stack and don't want to get ripped off by buying something that uses a name similar to ephedrine but doesn't actually do anything.

basically there is a loop whole for asthma...so now it is legal again...just look for ephedrine hcl...you can get it in the gas station...

Ok I think I just answered my own question after doing an internet search and sorting through all the bs sites. Ephedrine HCL is a synthetic form of ephedrine.
