is there any real difference? i heard that r-la is more effective as an antioxidant and r-ala is more effective as a glucose transporter to muscles. and is there a difference in what type of form it comes in like powder or liquid?

no. some bottles at vitamin shoppe say r-la...like racemic lipoic acid....then some say r-ala...like racemic alpha lipoic acid...is there a difference?Originally Posted by rissinite
r-ala is better and yes there is a difference
(ala) is synthetic and (r-ala) Is the same type of alpha lipoic that occurs in our bodies.
The potency and efficacy of r-ala is alot better.. There are more reasons.. but you get my point..
