i'm sorry i can't help you much here, but the best advice i can give you is don't buy any new "hyped up" supplements out there. i've given up on supplements, cause i know if it's that good, it will last.
i've been into lifting for over 10 years, and i've seen so many supplements come and go that were worthless it's ridiculous.
at one point, vanadyl sulfate was hyped up to be this new great product. any of you remember it? any of you remember how good it worked? shouldn't be too hard, cause you were probably quite disappointed.
later was the dhea hype. today they say it's good for old people, but at first they hyped it up for everyone, saying it boosted "natural test levels", and it was about 4x (if not more) the price than it is now. well, most of us know where this product is now and how little it really does.
then there was the original androstenedione. supposedly boosted test levels, later we found it only boosted estrogen levels and caused gyno for certain sensitive individuals.
i've seen so many come and go, i honestly don't bother anymore. i take multi-vitamins, amino acids, and that's about it supplement-wise. creatine has been shown to work, but i've noticed so little if anything from taking it in comparison to not that i just don't think it's worth the cost.
if you really want stuff that works, you know what to take. i look at the shelves in vitamin world and gnc and look at their latest and, ahem, "greatest" (i'll use that word very loosely here) supplements, and most of them now are $50 and up. Well, if I'm paying that much for something, I'll buy something I know without question will work and will work far more effective than that hyped up stuff on the shelves.
Save your money when it comes to supplements and buy more whey protein, gainer, or something that has a genuine foundation working behind it rather than studies that were funded by the companies themselves. I learned the hard way in my earlier years most of them just aren't worth it.

I bought some No-xplode and it works well for pre workout energy after a long day of work. For the price about 50$ I figure it's cheaper than the 2 dollar a can energy drinks at the 7 elven and I can increase the strength of the drink if I build up a tolerance to it. It would be cheaper to buy all the ingredients seperate and mix them yourself but I'm lazy like that and prefer some flavor in it. Just for reference I read on the no-xplode site that there is only 2 grams of creatine in a serving so I would also use your normal creatine with it.

ECA all the way. I'm losing fat nicely and my workouts are intensified! Money well spent - it's pretty cheap. Other than that I'd say whey protein (cosco-style). Too keep the endogenous test up while on restricted calories I keep the fats up by use fish oil and extra virgin olive oil with each meal and of course there's the centrum, E, C, selenium and EGCG (from Green Tea extract - another fat burner) natural fiber laxitive (cosco style $10. for 2.5 lbs) and calcium ala cosco. This all helps me dial it in and in two months I'll be so ripped the men will woe and the woman will weep!
