What do you think of Creatine?
It seems to be just a waste of money to me. And I got killer leg cramps when I started taking it. I wasn't drinking enough H2O I guess.

I dont think its a waste of money. It increases strength, lets you do more reps+sets in the gym which = muscle growth
+ helps you out with your stamina and fatigue level.
Maybe you just dont know how to run it

I used to have some cheap monohydrate. I just recently purchased some Effervescent Creatine from ISS. It definately is easier on my stomach than the mono.
The packets are 17 grams. 1 per day.
Thanks

I got the xcience one, been on it for a week and a half and gained 5 lbs. Didn't really notice that much strength incrase but xcience isn't great. Its very commercialized. I only found this out after I purchased it.
Anyway.....They say most of the gains ans results you notice on the 1st week of your cycle. You usually consume 50grams/ed (2 shakes) 1 in the morning and 1 before your gym work out. so in total thats 50grams. Each shake is 25grams of creatine and 12oz of water.

Creatine is deffinitly not a waster of money - it has well-documented benefits. I remember when it was first hitting the scene and sold like it was cocaine - now you can get 500 grams for 10 dollars and people question it...
Some people are non-repsonders. Taking in some sodium bicarbonate with it (Alka Seltzer's work) will help neutralize stomach acids and help make some non-responders benefit from supplemental Creatine. And you must increase you water intake with Creatine use - it needs water to uptake correctly.

I am using Creatine Ethyl-Ester HCL at the moment. Am quite suprised as it's working very well for me. Made some good gains while on it and strength has gradually been going up. For the price i pay for it i would definately recommend it.

i used creatine for over 5yrs never cycled it,i found that creatine helps to increase stamina and strength giving you an edge in the gym its def not a waste of money, due to the fact that it increases atp stores in the muscle and draws fluids into the skeletal tissue giving them more elasticity and support less injuries will occur,i found as a result of this i had to increase my water intake.
i put several pounds on after loading and lost several after i stopped using this tell me it was manly water, but it can still facilitate growth, and there are other benefits to using it that you wouldnt expect.
i dont use it anymore as i just dont see any point i prefer to spend more on my diet or protein supps,if i hit a plateu then i might use it but as its just water retention i get ill save my money.my face looks better without it also.

i agree with most of the above
the biggest difference for me was the increased stamina during workouts
when i came off the weight i was pushing for 8-10 went down to 6-8 on 2nd and 4rd sets...it also fills out my shoulders and chest nice

I believe the average male has about 3 grams of creatine per kilogram of lean body mass. According to studies, muscle has the capability of storing up to 5 grams per kilo. The creatine in muscles is stored as creatine phosphate, and is the first source of energy called upon in the muscle cell, this is why there is increased stamina. ATP is used in the muscle cells to prime the mysoin heads to attach to the actin filaments. Once the heads are primed "cocked' and the muscle is ready for contraction the ATP is then turned to ADP and the muscle uses the creatine phosphate to replenish ATP. "Muscle contraction works like this...the myosin heads are cocked by the ATP and once the electrical stimuli from the nerve hits the muscle cell the myosin heads release. When they release they attach to actin filaments and the two filaments (actin and myosin) slide over one another (like sliding your fingers in between each other) and make the muscle shorter. Without ATP the muscle cells would stay contracted!" This is what happens when someone dies...all the ATP is used up and rigamortis sets in(they get stiff). Creatine has been shown to pull water into the muscle cells as it enters them, this leads to the weight gain. The gain in weight is all water, but it is in the muscle cell and therefor gives the muscles are thicker appearance. Some people will take in more water than others! The main reason for creatine supplementation should be the increased strength/stamina seeing that weight gain may not be substantial. Overall it is a good supplement...but make sure to buy a good brand. You should need no more than 5-10 grams a day! Oh, and the loading that they suggest is crap, JMO! Good brands that have worked for me and others...SAN CM 2 and Prosource Synthatrex. By all means the best tasting is CM 2, the synthatrex is kinda gritty and pretty shitty tasting...plus these two have no loading recommended!!

Loved creatine mono. Loved CEE even more due the smaller doses. I can cap my own powder and not have to take 10pills a day.

i tried several different kinds of creatine. if it did anything for me, it wasn't enough to give me any noticeable difference. for me, it's a waste of money. however, i will say i know a number of people who swear it works great for them. i think it really depends on the individual.

I think NO explode (BSN) is good. tastes pretty good (no orange yuck) and there is no loading BS like with Creatine Monohydrate, they say the standard amount is around 5-8 grams per day. Anymore is wasted

Now ev1 correct this and/or please comment on it.
My friend said creatine is a bodybuilders nicotine. That its basically waste of money and wants you start, you keep on spending. And as soon as you let off, your gains go away.
Now, Im thinking about taking creatine, and trying it out. Whats the best stuff out there? And about how long do you have to use it before you see/feel results?
Thanks.

JMO, SAN CM 2 and prosource synthatrex are very good. You should feel the effects on the first dosage! Synthatrex can only be bought at the prosource sight and is like $50 for two containers (60 servings), however, this stuff does not taste very good at all! The SAN CM 2 is very tasty and can be bought anywhere. I usually shop at DPS nutrition and they have very good prices! I think the CM 2 now comes in capsule form too, but I don't know of anyone who takes it. AS far as losing your gains...yes! The weight gain is due to water that enters the muscle cells along with the creatine, unless you have taken it for years and have gained actual muscle tissue the gains from creatine will be short lived. The strength and stamina increase is due to the increase in creatine phosphate available in the muscle tissue from increased intake of creatine. Once you stop creatine supplementation then levels will go back to normal. You may retain a little strength due to the increased work load you put on your muscle while taking creatine. If you upped your work load while on creatine then your muscle may grow and adapt, therefor retaining some strength even when you stop taking creatine.

Creatine is creatine. Mono is my fav because it's so cheap. CEE looks nice, because it has less bloat... but is not worth the extra dough imo. I could use that money for much better things (like food, cars, women, ect.)
