    Need Help Choosing Supplements

When it comes to gear I have a good knowledge base; however, I've never dealt with pro-hormones or other supplements. Whether my reasoning was flawed or not I figured it would be best to do what I could naturally and then try gear--yes there were side-effects but these compounds, unlike the bullshit supplements you see all around you, are proven to build muscle. Like I said, right or wrong, that was my thinking at the time. So I went straight for gear and know absolutely nothing about supplements. Unfortunately, I had to end my last cycle prematurely due to an extreme amount of hairloss and quite honestly at my age I'd rather have hair on my head than a tremendous amount of muscle mass. So gear is no longer an option for me at the present time. So, I'm wondering, what kind of supplements might I try that WILL NOT cause hairloss or extreme side-effects? Creatine, etc? Any help getting me on the right path for a few supplements would be greatly appreciated.

He's preachin to the choir..I'm aware of how important having the right diet is...I eat 6-7 meals a day...salmon, chicken, tuna, steak, eggs, whole wheat pasta, rice, sweet potato, mashed potatos..are pretty much what I eat on a consistent basis..And I consume a protein shake (as part of the 6-7 meals) after workout and before bed. I know what it takes to build muscle and have been able to do so both naturally and with gear. Since I decided that I won't use gear anymore at this time, what I'm really looking for are supplement suggestions.

Great thanks...I've got Isopure Whey Protein--50g per serving, can be dissolved completely in water without a blender--great stuff! What's a "good" creatine? I'll pick up some NO, too. Any suggs on that? I know GNC has 10000 of the same shit to choose from so some idea what might be effective is good.

I would NEVER buy any GNC brand products, nor would I buy anything from them to begin with....their prices are unbelievably expensive...search around online for whatever product you look for.....JMO...but as for creatine, I dont know honestly, Ive never really had any luck with any of it except Cell-tech....now don't get me wrong, Im not a fan of Muscle-te3chs products usualy, but for me their creatine gve me the best results. Some say Vault is pretty good too. I've only used 2 NO products....Pump-tech and Nitrix........I would go with Nitrix..

Awesome! Thanks for the info. Does Vault or Nitrix have Creatine EE or Mono? I have pretty much everything on your list except for creatine, HMB (never heard of it), carnosine, and a good gainer shake. I have a good whey protein but it's not weight gainer.

Regarding HMB: "HMB is a proven anticatabolic dietary supplement. HMB has been shown in controlled studies (with athletes performing regular resistance training) that when taken at 3 grams per day, produce a 300% greater increase in lean mass gain. HMB has a pronounced effect on decreasing the protein breakdown induced by resistance training along with increasing nitrogen retention by the body, resulting in a subsequent increase in lean muscle mass and strength. Sci Fit uses only MTI licensed HMB." Is that true? 3 grams per day seems a lot when I've found only capsules at 500mg.

Things may have changed but the guy who discovered HMB owns it and has rights to it. Which means any company who sells it, has to buy it from him first....that's why it is very pricy and was only sold in caps in 500mg per cap. He may have sold it as I heard you may be able to buy HMB powder now a days but that is just a rumor. It has gone through clinical trials and has been proven to build muscle as well as other things but only for a high price. When I was a teenager I got a bunch of HMB for free and I liked it very much other than the fact that you have to take 12 pills per day.....besides that I would never spend my money on it

    http://www.nutritiongeeks.com/hmb-ex...mg-scifit.html

Check that out. 120 capsules at 750mg/HMB for $34.99.

Also, what's the verdict on Vault or Nitrix? Good stuff or is simple CEE better? I've done some research and would very much like to try CEE but not sure what brand to go with.
