Depends on when you take it. I take whey after workouts and a mix of whey and casein (sp?) at night.
I do a little whey pre-workout and post workout. Also, whenever i think i could use quick additional calories, ill make a simple whey shake (milk + whey).
Calcium Caseinate is very slow absorbing so its ideal for bed to prevent catabolism. Caseine powder is a bit expensive though so i just dominate 1 - 1.5 cups of Fat free or 1% cottage cheese before bed.
Egg protein is legit too but has a poor taste, more expensive than whey as well.
Soy protein is crap. I dont mind food with some soy in it but i would never buy soy protein powder. Tastes bad too.
Well - that pretty much sums up most of your protein powders.
