Thanks guys got what I needed
You need to drink the BCAA's DURING your workout. Just review threads on Xtend on various boards. Tons of info.
I have been researching this topic for a paper Im doing in my ESN class. Through the research I've done it seems like BCAA'S alone aren't the best. The reasoning being that with the complementation of the full spectrum of other aminos, including EAA and non-essential, it can drastically enhance the usage and storage in skelatal muscle.
Ill post the article when im done including references.
My current workout shake is 1.5 scoops of substance, 6 scoops of xtend, 5g of creatine and I love it. Had amazing results.
Ok let me clerify this
BCAA's are Amino Acids. Specific ones.
yes, protein powders contain BCAA's because whey protein is a complete chain of all 23 (i believe) amino acids. The problem is, they are usally in low dosages, and taking BCAA's also, ensures your getting alot of essential amino's with good potency. So yes, they should be taken with your PWO shake
Picture this, protein is like a wall made of bricks, and amino's are individual bricks, now with an Essential Amino Acid Complex like BCAA's thats the bottom most important layer of bricks
