    Glutamine - When?

    First thing how many doses a day of glutamine do you take? Mine is micronized and has 4500 mg a serving. It says to take once daily.

    The main question though is what time of day to take it. Is it better to take it pre-workout, post-workout, or before bed? Im thinking post-workout AND before bed but I just wanna see what you guys think is best.

    Hey i do that POST WORKOUT AND BEFORE BED. Mainly becasue soem one onthese boards told me to do it before bed........I have no proof of the effectiveness.

    Pre and PWO are excellent times and so is first thing in the morning and just before bed .
    Try out different combinations and come to your own conclusion .
    I have done pre post and AM /PM . I like AM / PM 5 mg dosages as my PWO shake has glutamine in it .

    When i used it, always before workout and thats it. No need IMO to take it any other time. If your diet's on then you should be fine.

    the shit doesn't work. its calle dthe placebo effect. Glutamine cant get past the gut and only positive results have been through IV. waste of money taken orally

    It's an amminide of the glutamic acid and sorry but it's like saying proteins are not needed to build lean mass.

    You are wrong. Some of it is broken down in the gut. Most people have to take over 10 grams per day to get any kind of effect because of this. If you buy some Glutamine pills that are 500 mg and take 3-4 of those per day, you wont see or feel anything. If you take say 20 grams per day by the second week you should notice a big difference in muscle fullness and recovery.
