there is no answer. It is one of the most debated subjects on the forums. Some will say no shake, stick with whole foods. Some say a shake is good but only with complex carbs. Some will say simple carbs in the shake are a must. Try them all and find the one that suits you!
Thanks for answering. I have an endless supply of protein factory protein along with all the necessary vitamins and minerals in pill form. Because of the distance from my house to the gym and my schedule, a shake would probably be best. What should I mix the protein with and what would be a good source of carbs to put in the shake? Thanks again
powdered oats are good if you favour complex carbs (you dont get a crash from the simple carbs this way)
I use Waxy maize starch which is low GI but Very fast digesting, I love it.
many use dex (sugar) or maltodextrin or a combination of both.
I usually have 50g pro and 80g carb for shake PWO, again many different opinions on this.

I pound shakes bro, and it works for me, if i get bored i have a shake, after a meal i have a shake, and definetly PWO i have a shake, I agree with perfectbeast though, w/e u like and works for you. try em all out outOriginally Posted by krigby

Here is my recipe.
Two and half scoops of pro concentrate/isolate/di-tri pep.
one full scoop of powdered gatorade concentate
two slices of white bread
one serving of BCAA
