It says on my bottle of creatine cee that I should take it before and after my workout. Should I take it with food or on an empty stomach? A few years ago when i used normal creatine I took it on an empty stomach.

I take my cee preworkout on a relatively empty stomach...usually half hour - 45 min after my lasst meal...and pwo i just throw it in w/ my pwo shake
On an empty stomach will allow for better absorbtion.
good to kno ms...thanks!Originally Posted by MuscleScience

Correct me if Im wrong but because its an ester it should be taken like a mult vitamin with a fatty source of food because it helps with absorbtion.
or at least this is what i thought, how wrong am I?
Your not wrong at all, your stomach has a lipid lining so just like alcohol it passes right through and is absorbed into the blood stream. If you eat a fatty substance with a lipophilic substance. A portion of that substance will be transported with the fat throught the intestinal wall much the way cholesterol does. Fatty substances usually have to be transported throught the blood stream with a protein coat that blocks the hydrophobic portion of the compound . If not fat will deposit everywhere in the bloodstream without the protein coat. This is how cholesterol and some other fatty acids are moved via the blood stream. These fat and protien molecules are called lipoproteins if you wanted to know.
But I think I was wrong in saying you should take with a fat.
I think that the ester helps the creatine pass through the cell membrane easier/faster so you could and should take on empty stomach....
yeah, it passes right through the cell membrane with ease. You can take it on an empty stomach if you can tolerate it. It doenst bother me on an empty stomach but to some it does.
