anything i can add to PW shakes for carbs?
just wondering if any of you know of anything i can add to my post workout protein shakes to add some carbs. i use ON whey, which doesn't have near the carbs i like for PWO. i usually eat a 3/4 cup oatmeal with it but then i feel all bloated for a while. any help is appreciated. even a different kind of protein powder that has more carbs maybe would be a solution, let me know what works for you. ON seems to be the best bang-4-the-buck powder out there to me.

I like to add complex carbs.. i never really experienced any benefit to using dextrose or any other high glycemic. Powdered oats are my fav.

Dextrose at 90g/40-50g protein. It works great for me, just try not to eat a pro/fat meal for the following meal, I feel like I have much more fat retention when my insulin levels are spiked.
nyjetsfan- Powder your own oats dude! Throw em in the blender for about a minute, or a hand blender works if you have one. There was a huge debate on here a couple months back about whether powdering oats changes their GI, kinda interesting if you are bored and wanna search for it.

so does powdering the oats amke it so they don't all settle in the bottom of your shake container as your drinking it? and you just put them in the blender dry to powder them? thanks.

Yeah just throw them in the blender dry to powder them. They mix up alot better in your shaker cup that way then when whole.
