    How Much Glutamine?

    I take 15 grams of glutamine a day whether i workout out or not, my question is is too much glutamine a bad thing. I have heard you should take 15 grams of it on days you work out and 5 grams on non-workout days. Anybody have an answer for me?

    yeah i don't think to much is to bad. you'll just pee it out, i would take 5 grams after you workout then another 5 before bed, but 5 grams after lifting would be sufficent

    I take 5 after workout and 5 before bed. On off days I take it before bed (5grams).

    I take 5 in the morn, 10 after workout, and 5 before bed.

    10g in the morn, 10g after lifting, I also take it with creatine at the same time.

    15 grams is a lot but it will not hurt you...... it will keep your muscles staturated so thats alwayz a good thing

    Be carful. To much of ANY type of protien can be toxic to the kidneys. Hell one time while in the emergnecy room after an accident, I had the doctors think that my kidneys were failing due to the high levels of protien in my urine. Of course that dosen't go to say that you can't take enough protien in to build the require muscle for your goals, just be sure to drink plently of water throughout the day and you should be fine.

    Thanks Tobey i drink at least 4.5 - 5 liters of water a day already so i hope that's enough.

    actually a glutamine breakdown product is mildly toxic. but you would have to be eating buckets a day to kill yourself.
