I am about to start a 7 day fasting detox. Probably next week I'll start it. I am training a guy who just had it done and he says you won't believe the crap that comes out your body. He figures you've got like 3 kg's of toxic shit just stuck in your digestive system. That can't be good. I've seen pictures of what comes out, shit looks like aliens.

I'll keep you updated on what happens.

Are you guys talking about that colonix (sp?) stuff. I have seen the pictures of what comes out of you and talked to a few people who have taken it. It seems interesting. If you end up taking it you should keep a log (and post the pics of what comes out) . Let us know if it works.

I don't know but I found this on google. http://www.naturalways.com/master-cleanser.htm

You can make your very own colon cleanser.

I have yet to see and credible medical report or journal stating the benefits of "colon cleansers". I have yet to here any gastroenterologist praising the benefits of "cleaning your colon". Your body has an extremly efficient method of riding itself of toxins. A healthy diet and fiber is sufficient. When nutritents do not go down your intestinal walls properly they do not form well, get absorbed well and it looks like waste. Fact is that it was going to come out as regular feces nonetheless just that its trajectory was excelerated faster.
...still to this day, direct observations of the colon through surgery and autopsy find no hardening of fecal matter along the intestinal walls. There's no cesspool either. Cesspools form from copious amounts of feces...
"It's all just nonsense," says Dr. Brian Lacy of Dartmouth Medical School, author of Making Sense of IBS: A Physician Answers Your Questions about Irritable Bowel Syndrome. With prices often topping $100 and sometimes reaching $1,000 for weeklong spa therapies, Lacy calls colon cleansing "a very expensive enema."

    Listen to logic

Lacy approaches the topic logically. If stool is toxic, then the roughly 15 percent of American adults with constipation would have higher rates of colon or digestive diseases. They don't.

There have been real, honest-to-goodness studies on colon cleansing in recent years, he said, but they all have focused on the potential harm: abscesses caused by too much water, rectal perforation and electrolyte imbalance. All that water, usually tens of gallons, washes out the electrolytes that the colon was built to absorb. The water also washes away beneficial bacteria needed for digestion, and not magically only harmful bacteria, as the proponents claim.

Being regular can mean hitting the toilet three times a day or three times a week; there is zero evidence that more bowel movements will make you healthier. If you are constipated, then a laxative can make you feel better. Laxatives also aren't necessarily healthy. There are kinds that shock the bowels into moving, kinds that draw water into the intestines, and kinds that build bulk. Many doctors, particularly naturopaths, recommend the bulk-builders.

While colon cleaning can make some people feel better, it doesn't cure any disease; it's no more effective at relieving discomfort than an enema; and it is tantamount to throwing money down the proverbial toilet.

Well, I train a client who just had this done and he said you just won't believe the shit that comes out of you. Black crap that looked like bicycle innertubes he said. That can't be good for you.

About losing the healthy bacteria- I will be taking pro-biotic supplements daily as well as spirulina to replenish.

There are places out here that charge like $600 and up for this 7 day detox program and a lot of people are happy to pay for that. I figure I am going to be able to do this for less than $25.

This is actually not only for health benefits but it is also a trial run as I plan on integrating this into my business out here. These are like cocaine profits!

Ginko, Of course you wont believe what you see because you've never seen it beforehand. Truth of the matter is that those "black bicycle tube parts" werent hidden or "stuck" in your digestive tract somewhere and surprise surprise the colon cleanser booted it out. It would have come out of your stools and look like the typical excrement you see. This only happens because the food wasnt fully and properly absorbed, digested. So that impression is misleading.

So you are saying that it is perfectly normal to have these bicycle innertube looking things in your digestive tract at all times? That it will eventually be excreted in due time and it's all good?

Let's say I eat corn on the cob for dinner. In the morning when I take a trip to the john, right before I flush and I do the compulsory peek, I see bits of corn. (Just an example) So, it stands to reason that the journey food takes from the mouth to the toilet should be completed in a relatively short amount of time. So how can it be normal to have these fermenting chunks of alien looking fecal matter just lodged there in the digestive tract?

Normal or not, it sure doesn't appeal to me and it can't be entirely healthy either. So, what have I got to lose by doing this 7 day detox, other than a few kilos of rancid looking poo?

To be honest I am kind of dreading this whole thing, but that's because of the 7 days of no food and no gym time. I am a bodybuilder and I eat every 2-3 hours, so 7 days is definitely pushing the limits. But, I am sure that even though I lose some weight, I will put it back on in a short time and I will be a healthier person because of it.

For now, I've got a few more days to enjoy my food and I am eating whatever I please until Monday.

Oh yeah, my girl is doing this as well, so we'll both be miserable together and probably comparing dumps and hating everyone in the world who is enjoying eating their food. I'll probably start a log about this, so you guys can share the experience.

The only exceptions to the rule might be people who suffer from IBD or IBS. They suffer from disorder which impedes upon the digestive system. Any other digestive or intestinal ailment for that matter. The way these marketers argue their "remedy" a bodybuilder like Cutler and Coleman should have their intestines clogged by the age of 25, get cancer by 27 and die by 28. Here is an experiment, when you eat corn, peas, tomatoes, lettuce and brown rice do you see them in your stool? Probably not most times assumimg you have a health tract. Now eat those things and wait a few hours and use those colon cleansers. You will see corn, peas, rice and tomatoes in your stool. Why because all those are hard to digest and all the cleanser did was push it out, the digestive tract didnt have the time to fully break it down. Does that mean that it cleaned you intestines of corn, peas, rice and tomatoes that were laying there from last year? No.

Eat some olives, jellybeans, pickles and come chocolate for colouring. Use the colon cleanser and yes it is plausible it will look like bicycle innertube looking things. I have actually seen with a tube camera the inside of the intestine(on a TV screen) of individuals and there were no objects whatsoever stuck into the intestine. If you really want to find out the truth, it will hurt but get a colonoscopy done to see for yourself what junk is in your intestine. The small intestine is around 7-8 meters while the large intestine is around 1-2 meters. In the small intestine nutrients are absorbed and passes slowly through the large intestine, in this complete trajectory your poop is being formed. Use something to accelerate this process and your poop will come out unrecognizable and mal-formed. Again, in direct observation through surgery or autopsy no fecal matter was found on the intestinal walls. Putting this in layman terms but nonetheless by all means try it but their is no real benefit unless you have some disorder and do not suffer from a quasi-placebo effect euphoria after doing it.
