    Super Shakes?

    Any of you had experience with high octane shakes (calories) i.e. cytogainer, true mass, etc. Before I go out and get one (I know we dont need em, but I figure If I pop 2-3 a day, it'll help me boost the cals..........esp. pw....just wanted to know flavors and results......would you buy again assuming money isnt an object. YES I DID SEARCH and most are from 2005 or earlier....not too much on results or taste and at 6lbs a pop, I dont wanna flush it....no pun intended!

    hmmmm tuff question i liked true mass alot!!! tastes real good! the gaines were pretty good. i did half the serving instead of the full serving. make sure i get all of nutrients

    cytogainers the shit gained alot on it but most of my cals etc comes from real sources i like cytos flavors and easy mixability theres alot of good ones out there and everyones going to have differ opinions but cyto has worked well for me and the price is reasonable just rememer to ge t the most out of good solidmeals and let those gainers be Suppliments not your main source of diet

    why not just spend your money on food instead those weight gainers are just fat and sugar, and have you see the choleserol in those things 2 shakes and youre over 100% for the day if you drink 2-3 a day on top of what you eat youre going to clogg your arteries in a month

    I just purchased a tub of choc mint cytogainer and a tub of muscle milk light.......cant wait to try....I'll keep you posted. But everyone is right, this is only 1/2 the equation.

    I am going to pick up some of this stuff in the near future... what the best flavor? i have a pre workout protien a protien before bed but no postwo shake. i like the sounds of this stuff. but i agree with NY the cholesterol s out of control

    I'll let you know...I got the choc mint (heard it was very sweet,which is ideal since I dont eat junk and have a sweet tooth) and the muscle milk pb choc, case it smelled awesome......I should have it this weekend........

    amazed that I think I am more excited then when I got my aas in the mail. CYTOGAINER and MUSCLE MILK LIGHT....2 new flavors and I've tried neither product before.......excited to train tomorrow just so I can pound a few shakes!! lOL!

    I never really understood weight gainers, personally. I mean, it's harder to get protein than fats and sugars - that's the point of PROTEIN shakes. If you want fats and sugars just go out and eat pepperoni pizza hut pizza. If I am going to use a shake to get extra protein in my diet, I surely don't want extra fats and sugars thrown in.

    cytogainer does not have the extra fats and sugars, yea it has maltodextrin but most have no problems consuming this after a workout. Which is the only time i would take it.

    Exactly! ALthough Malto is not counted in the sugar content, the overall fat and sugar in cyto is miniscule. It's OPTIMAL for pw....2 scoop (half a serving) for me is all I need pw.....

    I see that most people only use 2 scoops, for my size i take all 4 scoops just wondering why you wouldnt take all 4 scoops if it fit in to your diet/goals

    cause it doesnt fit...I'm only 160.......plus its too sweet right pw.....maybe in afew weeks...just cracked the tub, so I need to introduce it into my diet first....

    mint chip rocks, rocky road = meh...,

    but chocolate malt = a phone call to cytosport! The damn shit WILL NOT MIX!!! It just turns into a foam at the top no matter what I do! I'm sure it would taste good but I cant get it to mix with water or milk. I know something is wrong, it sticks to the side of the glass before I can even get it in my mouth.....

    btw, muscle milk lite has like 3.5 calories per gram and regular has like 3.8. Cyto gainer has less calories per gram....food for thought.

    Blueberry and creme and chocolate peanut butter are the best. im out!

    I wake up every morning and mix 12 ounces of water, 4 large ice cubes, 4 scoops of Cytogainer (Caramel Swirl...ummm!!), half a banana, and two Table spoons of natty Peanutbutter, in a blender (imediately).

    Man... that shit is delicious.

    Then PW I mix 4-scoops with just water.

    It's working great for me. Im buildng some really good lean Muscle Mass with it as part of my diet.

    my concern was a pw shake of cyto would make you watery, softer, etc....like bread and milk do......were you able to stay shredded while using it? I was thinking of just 2 scoops pw to start, then 4 scoops, then 4 scoops post and 2 scoops in the am.....thoughts? Do you compete bro? How low do you go, bf wise......do you ever take it out......you seem to know your stuff...what's your diet and training style like? Little off topic, but hell, I started the thread......inquiring minds...... PM me bro

    You look pretty lean, so I wouldn't worry about the bloated look. I use cytogainer when Im bulking and cutting, no problem with looks.

    The point is, why get the watery look if you can get around it? I mean I could use whey and oats (I dont think it's as optimal) and not have to worry.....I just have never used a bulker before and want to make sure gains were solid......used during cutting?????/

    Gains are not established via a post workout shake. Gains are a result of the following components:

    1. Training
    2. Diet
    3. Rest

    It's best that you focus on all three components in order to maximize your goals. A PWO shake will not make or break your success. When you really break it down, a PWO shake is just a very small requirement for quick nutrient absorbtion. 40-50 grams of protein and 40-100 grams of carbs PWO. You figure out what works best for you through experimentation.

    (PS - I've used Cytogainer as a PWO shake and I didn't notice anything more or less from the times where I used white bread and jelly for PWO nutrition. So take that for whatever it's worth.)
