    Waxy Maize Starch

    I will be recieving my WMS very shortly and want to know how to use it and how much to take.

    Should WMS be taken pre, during, or post workout?
    How much should be taken?
    Is WMS better than dextrose and maltodextrin?

    If dextrose or maltodextrin are still better, I will order one of the two as well, but only if necessary alongside with WMS.

    They are all the same, carbs. Some like WMS because it is faster in terms of absorption than dex or malto and also does not cause the bloat.

    Some hypothesize that the absorption process allows you to force more amino's etc... into muscle cells. Not sold on that yet. You can use it Pre and Post i would not use it during though.

    Not true. That's like saying table sugar and a sweet potato are the same thing. The nature of the insulin spike caused by low GI carbs versus that of high GI carbs is different. WMS pulls nutrients (like whey protein, BCAA's, glutamine, etc.) along with it into the blood stream at the same time insulin is spiking. This results in better availability and uptake. Dex/Malto cause a very rapid insulin spike, but aren't as a***t as pulling nutrients along with them, which results in poor availability and uptake during the insulin spike.

    Use WMS post-workout. I like 80 grams of Vitargo CGL, which provides approximately 250 calories and around 60 grams of carbs, in addition to creatine. I mix 10 grams of BCAA's and a scoop of ON 100% whey in there as well.

    Check out true protein or protein factory for custom mixes.

    just bought this stuff. well actually the pure vitargo. i cant believe the difference between this stuff and the dextrose i was taking as my post w/o shake. waxy maize is the way to go! just make sure u get a flavored one.

    I use it post WO with great results. 40g pro 80g WMS 2.5g creatine 5g BCAA

    the only bad thing i dont like about it is it fills me up and i have no desire to eat for an hour and half.
