Goat Whey = Tasty
Anyone try the goat whey protein shake? You use half as much powder as traditional whey and its has 30 grams of protein per scoop.
I was at the Colorado PRO/AM Show last night and they had a big stand serving up free samples. I was like, "FREE MEAL" and I drank 2 huge glasses of the stuff. I gotta say, the taste beats any other whey hands down.
BTW, 0 carbs, 1g fat!

Wow, that sounds good.
How does it mix, does it stay chunky like a milkshake, or smooth like koolaid?

I've been taking the brand Oryx for 4 months now and I love it. I'm so lactose intolerant that if I look at cheese I burp so for if no other reason than that I love this stuff. Vanilla tastes better than most shakes I've tried. Not fond of the chocolate but when I toss in a banana or peanut butter it's no better/worse than anything else.
It's density is on par with other proteins though it does not absorb liquid nearly as much. The container comes with a mini scoop and 2 of those = 30 g. I use a standard scoop from another container which is slightly larger than the 2 mini scoops.
It mixes very smoothly. On days when I'm in a hurry, I dump one scoop into a shaker with 6-8 oz of soy milk, shake for a minute and down it. Not clumpy at all and due to the higher density it doesn't turn into a goo. It's still shake-like. When shaking I do find it gets bubbly but in a blended shake it's very smooth.
I can't comment on how it compares to whey protein absorption since I can't drink the stuff but I don't feel bloated or anything when I use it.

I just been using orxy goat whey this week. I must say im VERY impressed so far. I am allergic to dairy and normal whey makes me bloat and also affects my skin (makes it dry). So far no probs with the goat whey and it tastes good and mixes well.

Are you all using this for PWO? just curious with it not containing any carbs...if so are you adding oatmeal or WMS?

Im lactose intollerant so this sounds good. Ive seen adds for it many times. Im like beast2001 as far as using iso. Thats almost tollerable. How does the price compare and how much comes in a container(servings?). Its sounds like a scoop and a half equals about one regular whey serving.
If anyones found the best price anywhere, let me know please and thanks.

Yeah this stuff is great I been using it since I saw this post and I must say I love it ^_^ Shane I add oats to my PWO shake seeing as it has no carbs.

I get it for $40 at GNC, with the monthly discount and tax it's under $35. I've found it for that amount on websites but then you have to pay shipping.
I drink it (and soy) exclusively. I've researched the absorption rate compared to whey and it is slower but not as slow as casein.
As for price, go google. Prices vary as sales come and go. When it comes to protein tho, I prefer to buy it in-store. The likelihood that there has been heat breakdown is lower since they get stuff in larger bulk and business deliveries are done before residential. That box with your protein mix in it that you just got from UPS has been in their pressure-cooker van all day.

I mix with WMS. I read that the absorbtion rate of the goat whey was better than whey iso???

Well beast it is supposed to absorb better, who knows as to if faster?

its 30-35bucks for 2.2lbs but considering you use smaller scoops and the two scoops are less than 1 regular whey protein scoops it equals out to about 4-5lbs of regular protein. Not to bad in my opinion

Just looking up for myself at GNC on line and the GC "Gold Card" price. It breaks down like this as far as protein:
ONs 100% Whey Gold Standard 2lbs:
Searving size 1 Scoop = 24g protein.
32 servings
GC price $20.79
Vyo-Tech™ ORYX Goat Whey 2.2lbs:
Serving size: 2 rounded Scoops = 30g protein
30 servings
GC price 33.99

That would be about 768gs of protein for ON, and 960gr of protein for Goat Whey....192 extra grams of protein.
Its like getting 8 extra 24g serving for an extra $13 (192g/24g =8)Last edited by peace_frog; 08-16-2007 at 04:13 PM.

They are about the same size at 2lb vs 2.2lbs and the ON has more severings at 32 vs 30 and then you look at the scoops, ON uses 1-scoop vs Vyo uses 2-scoops per servings. Must be little scoops.

Yeah the scoops are tiny.

just as good or better then ON 100% whey.....taste wise

I see people saying you use half the amount of powder but get the same amount of protein as regular whey. How does that make any sense.
Take an isolate whey protein for example, they are usually 90% protein. So you use a 30g scoop and get 27g protein. So you are saying than if you use a 30g scoop with goat whey you get 54g protein...great logic.
Goat whey may be good but think logically here. You CANNOT POSSIBLY use half the amount of powder and get the same amount of protein.

Someone did say its like using half of the powder to get the same amount of protein. But in my post I did go to show what you really get. Maybe you should have looked at that post. The servings per container are about the same , but you get 30 grams vs. 23-27g depending on your protein. I posted that also to show its not like getting twice the amount of protein and it(the goat whey)is more expensive. I agree, its certainly not like getting twice the amount with the same serving size. You get more protein per serving, but you pay a lot more for it. Like I said, its like getting 8 extra servings of protein(if it were the ON brand..24 grams worth per serving) for 13 more dollars. If you were to pay 13 dollars per 8 servings that would be like paying $52 dollars for 32 servings (which is exactly the amount of servings in ONs 2 pounder.)
So it certainly isnt like getting twice the amount, and it is more expensive. That has been cleared up a few posts ago. So I agree with you.
