Real food has more vitamins and nutrients than protien shakes alone. But you could get a meal replacement shake that would be a little better. It depends on what your are doing. For post workout, shakes are better because it absorbs better than real food. Shakes should never be used as a primary source of food or protien.

Real food also burns more cals via digestion. Pro shakes get absorbed much faster. I only use shakes for Post w/o.
