    Essential supplements

So, what are some of the essential supplements or vitamins that a bodybuilder should add to thier diets.. Since muscles are a protein and amino acids, I would assume that aminos would be needed, but I have heard that they don't really help you. (http://www.bodyhealth.com/html/biobu...hain-Amino.asp)

So what are the supplements that you need?

Protein - This would be number 1
Glyocern? or Glucose? (These are the same, correct?)

What else? Help me to understand this chemistry of the body.

This may seem like a stupid question... but why is water so important? What exactly does it do to your body if you don't drink enough water??

Water is an important nutrient and is vital for a variety of bodily functions and processes including removal of waste products, carrying nutrients, and regulating body temperature. Water helps reduce fluid retention, and helps keep bowel functions normal.

Most people realize fluid is used to produce sweat which keeps us cool during exercise and the hot temperatures of summer, but not as many are aware that the body also needs water to stay warm. The best way to illustrate this is to think of your car. The radiator needs fluid regardless of the weather.

Water is one of the most essential elements to good health -- it is necessary for the digestion and absorbtion of food; helps maintain proper muscle tone; supplies oxygen and nutrients to the cells; rids the body of wastes; and serves as a natural air conditioning system. Health officials emphasize the importance of drinking at least eight glasses of clean water each and every day to maintain good health.

Also, drinking a lot of water gives me a mean pump in the gym. Anyone agree???
