    Milk thistle

    Side Effects and Warnings

Milk thistle appears to be well tolerated in recommended doses for up to six years. Some patients in studies have experienced stomach upset, headache, and itching. There are rare reports of appetite loss, gas, heartburn, diarrhea, joint pain, and impotence with milk thistle use. One person experienced sweating, nausea, stomach pain, diarrhea, vomiting, weakness, and collapse after taking milk thistle. This reaction may have been due to an allergic reaction, and improved after 24 hours. High liver enzyme levels in one person taking milk thistle returned to normal after the person stopped taking the herb.
    WTF?

I know the side effects are rare and that it is well tolerated, but no wood and sharts?

I am going to guess that no one has experienced the sides?

well for one... it doesnt say how much milk thistle was taken when any of these claims were made so its hard to determine or correlate these side effects with anything

i have taken milk thistle at 600mg (2 capsules), at twice a day for four weeks at a time with the 17-aa orals and the only thing i noticed was a little less appetite

I've never heard of anyone experiencing those side effects with milk thistle. In an article I just read, it said there are vitually no side effects, and is generally safe for anyone to take. I wouldn't worry about experiencing side effects. I think it's important to be on whenever there could be damage to the liver, or toxins going into the liver.

    Glutathione Spoof

Supplementing has been difficult, as research suggests that glutathione taken orally is not well absorbed across the GI tract. In a study of acute oral administration of a very large dose (3 grams) of oral glutathione, Witschi and coworkers found that "it is not possible to increase circulating glutathione to a clinically beneficial extent by the oral administration of a single dose of 3 g of glutathione.
