What would be the general consensus on protein intake..........
    shakes vs pills?

Also how popular is amino supplementation?

Never tried pills, ive only had shakes. For pills i'd have to be eating like 40 1g pills to meet the amount of protein from a few shakes. I've only had shakes.

For shakes it depends whats cheapest at the time with low sugar/fat and high protein per serving. Optimum Nutrition Whey is usually decently cheap and is a pretty good quality.

I've only had a few bottles on branched chain amino acids (BCAA's). Didn't really notice anything in my mind. I'm sure they probably do help, but I've never noticed anything significant for the price.

    pills are useless.
there's basically 2 forms of protein that you can really use.
    powders, and natural foods.
overall, food is better, but shakes make it easier.
my best advice is to eat lots of meat, drinks shakes, and drink egg whites.

I've seen liquid amino complexes but not pill form. The only pill form I've seen is BCAA's. But if you go online and get it in bulk in powder form it will be a lot cheaper.

Also it is not proven that aminos absorb any better than protein in whey or natural form.

Everyone who lifts weights should be taking bcaa. I use GCN brand iso protein vanilla flavoured good stuff comes in 6lb tubs. I also take ON casein protein also vanilla before bed. I spend a fortune on supps ah well GNCs not cheap I know but its convenient to just go grab things I need.
