BCAAs
Can you ever take too many/much BCAAs?

lol... I'd suggest taking 5 - 10g a day. I have never heard of someone overdosing on BCAAs. You could probably just piss out the excess, similar to vitamin C. But I'm not 100% positive on that..
Realistically why would you want to do that to yourself lol... they taste ****kking horrible..!

I was just wondering, because my protein has BCAAs in it, i'm taking 10g BCAA powder before cardio on MWF, and i take 20 liver tabs a day
I'm doing a show in 11 weeks so i'm trying to preserve all the muscle i can while cutting down, it's my first show so i'm a bit nervous about coming in too soon or too small

10g of BCAAs a day are completely fine. In addition, the extra BCAAs you get from your protein shakes are fine. Realistically, you're probably only going to drink 2 - 3 protein shakes a day... so I would definitely not consider that "too much."
Good luck with the show / cutting phase.
what're your stats right now after the bulking??

Alright, appreciate the info
Started dieting 1/3/09 at a weight of 203.8, not sure on BF.. This morning i weighed in at 195.8, i definately look much more lean. I have a couple pictures of me 12 weeks out posted up in the member pictures, i'll be adding pictures every 2 weeks up until the contest... I'm guessing i'll be around 170 on stage

Good job. If you cut properly you'll look huge at 170.

i read somewhere that taking BCAA's actually isnt good cuse it creates some sort of imbalance of proteins..not sure as to how truthful this is..

most take them before and after workouts
take before on cardio to help ensure that your body has enough of them and doesnt pull protein or muscle for energythrough oxidative pathway(form of ATP) and to ensure that post workout your muscles are aided in recovery and protein absorption

ill take upwards of 20g before, during, and post workout sometimes and 40-50g during cutting season. usually what i do is sip on XF's ICE, Scivation Xtend, or make my own concoction from bulk BCAAs to drink throughout the day. tends to help with recovery, stand anabolic , and preserve muscle mass when cutting.
personally, if you are not cutting then i see no reason for you to take BCAAs that much. you should get plenty from your diet and protein shakes but more cant hurt, specially if you dont mind spending the cash.
