Can we combine and figure this out one and for all?

I've heard so much debate over the 8 years I've been training and it is driving me crazy. Here is the question: Can the average person only utilize about 30g of consumed protein per 30 min??? In other words if I chug a 150g shake, am i wasting 120g? I know there has been much discussion on this, but I was hoping for a solid reliable source and not hearsay because I've heard just about every possible theory. Some say because we bust our asses in the gym we are able to utilize more protein which makes sense since the demand is present within us, but how much more? The reason it's so important for me is because as an ectomorpth I have a difficult time consuming enough nutrients to keep my muscle fully satisfied, but I try to the point where I am gagging. Therefore what I am able to force down, I sure as hell don't' want to come right back out the other end without being utilized...I think a solid answer to this question would be awesome for many of us. Maybe swolecat may know?

Btw, for a excellent economical source of Isolate try this link, it is available in bulk 50lbers and like 13 awesome flavors. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...e=STRK:MESE:IT. it's 360.55 but you can offer as low as 260.00 shipped. If you email the seller you can request lab certificates and everything. Excellent source.

LOL...many will argue about this, and there's other threads about this very subject. Most say 1.5-2 g/per lb body weight. I agree...but then I look at the abomination of humanity that is Ronnie Coleman. Have you ever watched him make a protein shake? It's ridiculous. But, there's nothing to say about it because he's retardedly massive.

Being on AS has a lot to do with it, and supplemental digestive enzymes will also help.

While on cycle, I eat as much as I can and take 2 whey shakes and 1 casein shake (at night beforebed) per day. Although, my goals are different from most on this board because I'm not interested in body building. I powerlift for sport (rugby), so being sexy isn't my first concern.

Thanks for your 2cents, it's much appreciated. I saw Ronnie at the Arnold last year. He didn't compete and wasn't "in shape" but damn he sure is an abomination. I watched a documentary on him but never saw he make a shake? I know he eats grits and egg whites every morning like a ritual though.

Ronnie has 3 videos that I know of:

    The Unbelievable
    The Cost of Redemption
    Relentless

There is another called On The Road with Ronnie Coleman, but I haven't seen that one. In at least one of the 3 videos it shows him making a massive shake with Syntha 6. Quite ridiculous. Anyway...isn't he coming back for another round of Mr. O?

EDIT: Here, found this on youtube...him making a shake.

I am looking for something that can be backed up in some way shape or form, perhaps a clinical study or a nutrition major who did some sort of project on the topic, anything somewhat conclusive, not hearsay as I already stated.. None of which the search button provided, but i do greatly appreciate the useful information, Thank you.

Wow.....That's absolutely berserk...That's pretty conclusive, clearly it's working for him..He's likely using insulin and other compounds to shuttle nutrients into his muscle tissue though I am guessing. Yeah he did say he was taking a year off after his loss to Jay, but he sure looked aged in the face the AAS did a number, body is still incredible of course, but I got the impression we won't see him again on the Mr.O stage...Hope I am wrong though. He's a really nice guy.

So then where did the theory ever come from in the first place? It must have been a credible source since it such a heavy debate now a days, know what I mean? This is the reason I created a new thread although I could've searched an old one. Because we're still waiting on a conclusion, it's an open can of worms. I wouldn't doubt there may not be any conclusive answer, but whats the best way to find out.....

Someone could have completed that study last night for all I know. Personally I'll keep asking people more knowledgeable then myself until hopefully I can find a solid answer. It would really allow me to tailor my diet to be much more efficient.

    Thanks guys.
