Difference between the banned Ephedra and the Ephedra being sold now

What is the difference? I dont get it I just figured Ephedra is Ephedra, but now I read things like Ephedra alkaloids are banned but not different forms of Ephedra. I can only assume that this type of ephedra that is currently being sold is not as strong as the banned Ephedra!?!

Can someone shed some light on this for me?

And are the products that are being sold with ephedra, are they decent? I wanted to create my own ECA stack but its so hard when i see different forms of Ephedra (Ephedra Virilius (sp?), Ephedrine, Ephedrine HCL etc.).

Ephedra is a plant which has as its primary alkaloid Ephedrine. Ephedrine is a distinct chemical which gives Ephedra its effects. Think caffine vs the coffee bean. You can get Ephedrine without difficulty and there is no reason to look for the plant. My understanding was that it was against the rules to market ephedrine as a compenent of the weight loss supplement (regardless if the supplement contained the plant or the isolated chemical.). I seem to be wrong as I have bought weight loss drugs containing an ECA stack over the counter at private supplement stores. Wikipedia claims ephedra as part of a weight loss drug is illegal. Maybe ephedrine can still be put in. This would be non sensical becuase all of the effect of ephedra come from ephedrine so it hardly matters.

To be technically correct the ephedra plant also contains the stimulant pseudophedrine (like over the counter sudafed).

You can get all the components of an ECA stack over the counter. My preference is using a brand name ephedrine free ECA stack like hydroxy or xenadrine and adding my own ephedrine to it.

"Ephedrine HCL" is Ephedrine for all intents and purposes. For an acidic molecule like ephedrine or cocaine to be electrically neutral it needs an electron donor like chloride to balance its charge. The electron donating substance used will have no effect on the drug once injested. So bottom line is that Ephedrine is Ephedrine HCL. If by some miracle you got pure crystaline Ephedrine, the first thing that would happen when you ate it would be that it takes up the chloride in your stomach and become ephedrine hcl.

Ephedra virilius is a species of plant which does not contain ephedrine. It is a plant. The Ephedra sinica plant is the one which contains ephedrine. If you are taking virilius stop and take something else. You best bet is getting a known, standard well regulated dose of chemical ephedrine at a pharmacy or online by buying bronkaid.

I didnt know if anyone tried Ts pharma's Tri-Matrix. Its actually much stronger than Hi-Techs Stimerex or Lipordrene. The profile is very nice. I have been on a typical ECA stack with the 200mg caff 81 mgA and 25mg ephedrine (bronkaid). But this one is just so different. I am thinking due to the ephedra in it vs ehpedrine found in otc medicines. But its very extreme stuff and its just 1 cap to take.
