    Caffiene intake

Ive recently bought 2 muscletech products and notice in the ingredients in both are quiet high in caffiene,
1st product is hydroxycuts which has 180mg per serving

    2nd nanox9 which has 300mg per serving

on workout days you take both product before workout this meaning i would be comsuming 480mg in one serving is this bad
does anyone know of a way i can take both products i get up about 0500hrs every day i train around 1600hrs,
any help/advice would be recieved gratefully.

    cheers

I add 200mg of caffiene to my pre w/o shake. I am thinking of upping it a little.

not really, and i'm actually not a fan of uppers at all. its when the caffeine product contains other uppers that really gets me. You'll be alright if your a healthy, young individual. I wouldn't tell an older man or woman to take too much of a caffeine related product though.

is no one going to tell him that increased and prolonged use of these types of stimulants will lead to (obviously) elevated cortisol levels, and thus to fat build up?

    OP, what are your goals?

Yea, but people aren't supposed to use stimulants year round. They're usually cycled. Besides, as long as you keep your blood pressure in check, stress levels low, exercise regularly, and eat well you should never experience high levels of cortisol. If the subject was an obese person who sat on the couch all day eating potato chips and popping caffeine pills, then I'd say the caffeine will probably boost levels of cortisol.

I also want to add to my above comment, if you get 8 or 9 hours of sleep per night, cortisol inhibiting hormones will take care of any "high" cortisol levels. And to answer your question, I don't like muscletech very much. It's over priced and a lot of times their products contain the same ingredients as the less expensive brands.

Don't use Muscletech. Majority of their products are garbage, and incredibly overpriced IMO. Also there is no such thing as a fat burner. Hydroxycut only speeds up your heart rate, theoretically making your metab increase.

^^^ muscle tech is trash. They target newbs with their flashy packaging and ridiculous claims. You can't open a body building magazine without seeing a 5 page add for them, they should spend more money on research and development and less on advertising. In my experience they dont have repeat customers because after you do a little research you find out that you can get a comparable product for a fraction of the price.

Are you trying to tell me that Jay Cutler didn't get to where he is today because of Muscletech's products?

    Preposterous.

    Lol. All natural baby.
I usually drink 4 spikes (1200 mg caffeine) daily... that bit about raising cortisol levels is new information to me.

I pop two 200 mg caffiene pills and drink green tea before my workouts (which equals 480mg of caffiene) and I haven't seen any adverse side effects.

The elevated cortisol levels due to high caffiene intake is news to me. Seems like as long as you cycle off caffiene (I never take it on the weekends) you should be good to go. If anyone has more info on caffiene and it leading to higher cortisol levels, I'm all ears.

elevated cortisol due to high caffeine??? for daily consumers of caffeine, studies have shown that cortisol levels remain at normal levels, yet for those who use caffeine infrequently, cortisol levels may become elevated
