The main things are COUNT YOUR CALORIES. You cant just drink a weight gainer shake and expect to gain weight. Go check out the diet forum and make that your number one focus. Not sure your lifting experience but if you are a complete newbie I wouldn't use anything. Your going to see your best and most rapid gains in the first 1st year, save the supps for when you stall out. Multi vitamin, EFA's(flax, fish) good PWO shake is all you really need when it comes to supps

FOOD! Most of the weight gainer you see are loaded with garbage. You need to fix your diet like i stated earlier!!

As the others said, at your size quaility diet is the most important. As for supps, go ahead and use that gainer since you have it but after its gone don't buy anymore buy food. Use the gainer with food don't use it to replace food. The only other things Id recommend right now for you is a quality multi vit (I like Orange Triad), Fish oil 6g/day, and maybe some creatine mono if you've been training for a while.

I have a friend that was your size and had a hard time gaining weight but it can be done you just have to eat lots of good food and train the right way. My buddy seriously could eat 6000+ cals a day and not gain a pound of weight for long periods of time. But he was eating wrong and running for his fitness routine=FAIL.

Gainers and shakes have their place but shouldn't be used as a crutch for not eating. You really only need 1 shake a day, and that's immediately after your workout. What ***TOP*** was referring to is most gainers have a bunch of junk added to them. Your Post Workout Shake(PWO) should consist of a quality whey protein and a quality carb source. It should be something like 75g carbs 35-40g protein and EFA's. The only other time a shake should be considered is before bed
