No, I don't think you are doing anything detrimental. The only thing I could think that might be a problem is gastric upset during training.
Thats good whey doesn't bother me.
What works best for me is 25-30 whey 15-30 min prior then sipping on BCAAs thru the workout and another 25-30 grams in my pwo shake
