    **Make your Own Pre-workout supp**

    So,

ATM the Super Pump / Jackedkind of pre-workout supps are developing fast and flying off the shelves....

People love them..... I have never bought into them.... Had a super pump 250 once and felt kind of sick.....

I have just ound 2 servings of SP250 and I have just added it to my regular pre WO drink to see if it has any effect.....

So If you were to make your own pre-WO 'Pump' sp, how wuld you go about it...

    Some possible ingredients...

    Arginine Alpha-Ketoglutarate

    Creatine Monohydrate

    Beta Alanine

    Caffeine

    Glutamine

    Dextrose

So what dose of each would we be talking???

Who Like these kind of supps?

    Who uses them regularly?

Does any one make ther own up? Swifto?

Who thinks that a pump is useless (I know that if I dont 'feel' my session then it is a crap one for me personally)?

Input guys...... Lets make the best Pre-Workout supp out there and not hide it behind some BS 'Propritary Blend' curtian...

I don't like too much caffeine in mine. Razor-8 made me so damn sick..... it's loaded with caffeine and I was ready to chunk after only 1 serving.

I'd def have Beta Alanine, caffeine (but not overloaded), and L-Arginine (a lot)

Dextrose wouldn't be bad for Pre-workout slin days.....

    Most effective pre workout supplement:

Have very beautiful, sexy, and mildly promiscuous women whisper in your ear, "Honey, if you train extra hard today by the time you finish your shower I will be naked and all yours".

Free, great for all parties, and 100% effective.

Can substitute the use of a woman for man if that so tickles your fancy *winkywinky DSM*

I stopped buying pre-workout bullshit ages ago. Now my pre-workout is as follows:

    200mg caffeine pill
    4,000mg L-arginine
1 pill Kreakyln 1500 buffered monohydrate (another PWO)
Recently added 800mg beta alanine (another 1200mg PWO)

Still getting a weird tingling from the Alanine but greater intensity. Could be placebo - need to run it a few more weeks. The pumps/energy I get are better than any of the supps I've tried and I'm ashamed to say, I've tried many, lol.

For intra-workout, I do USPLabs Modern BCAA blend as it's completely free of flavorings/additives but more importantly, also contains glutamine! Reasonable price for ~40 day supply too. I don't supplement with additional glutamine directly pre/post WO because my whey has a ton of it. On that note, since I know it's gonna come up - here's how I structure my food intake around pre/intra workout supplementing:

About 60 minutes before the gym, 50g pro/50g complex carbs/ 20g fat - usually it's tilapia with sweet potatoes and a handfull of sprouted almonds. I take the pre-workout concoction/pills 30 minutes later (30 before the gym) to avoid any nausea/inefficient absorption. The BCAAs/Glutamine are intra as stated above but I do reserve about a 1/3 of the bottle to be chugged upon completing my workout before 15 minutes of stretching/sauna/yoga and finally the PWO shake (oats, isolate, creatine, fruit). Been doing this a while now and things have been going really well. None of the same issues associated with pre-fab pre-workout drinks.

Edit: I do have a stupid high stimulant tolerance - maybe start with less caffeine. My ADD prescription helps for pre-workout too, lol.

NP. I didn't respond to one aspect of your post - I do think "pump" is overrated and merely a marketing strategy. However, I'd be lying if I said it didn't give me a psychological edge in the gym. I'm yet to see any evidence that increased bloodflow aids in recovery. As a pre-sex supp however, NO is not overrated haha

I can't comment on the stimulant aspect as 1) I am hypersensitive (borderline allergic), and 2) I don't believe stimulants should be relied upon and should only be used when necessary. I wouldn't consider them in my prewo regimen at all.

As for the nutrients I would include:
    L-arginine (most important) - 5-10grams
    L-Norvaline (to assist with arginine) - 100mgs
    L-Citrulline - 200mgs
    Beta alinine - 500mgs
    Creatine Monohydrate - 5grams
    B-Vitamins - 10-30mgs
    EAA - 1 gram

When making your own preworkout supplement you have to buy the right ingredients, in the right form, from the right supplier. If you don't your shake will be unbearable. Try mixing powdered L-arginine by twinlabs with anything and you will toss.

How important is the pump? Crucial!

That being said my preworkout supplements are:
    1 8oz steak
    1 sweet potato
    5 grams creating monohydrate

Ive tried many pre workout stimulants years ago but in all honesty I don't like the feeling they give me and many times they were a hindrance rather than any benefit. The tingling sensation didn't really settle within how I train and I could easily stimulate myself by the muscle mind connection rather than some product making me feel odd lol. I also don't even drink coffee so taking something more powerful what would take me out of my workout mind zone isn't something I would do anymore.

Products what have made a difference were clen , strange but true clen did give me an edge and was of great benefit to me many times, also had some minor success with L-arginine and L-lysine but I wasn't taking it for Pre workout stimulation but did see the benefit when I did, but I don't use any pre workout stimulants and don't buy into them.

curious about the supplement in bold above...I have recently read it increases NO levels more than Arginine. I know that Muscle Techs new preworkout formula (I know Muscle Tech products are an expensive waste) uses L-Citrulline instead of Arginine.

Here's my preworkout formula: 1 5oz can of tuna, 1 whole egg, 2 egg whites, 1 tsp. fish oil, 1 cup oats - this is taken 1.5 hours before my workout.

    30 mins before my workout:
    1 scoop jack3d
    200mg caffeine pill
    5g creatine mono
    4g beta alanine
    5g AAKG
    1g Vit. C
    1g taurine

This formula gives me tons of energy, vascularity (depending upon bf%), and a huge pump in the gym.

never been big on taurine either... its called the "happy" amino acid because its supposed to lift u but it has never done anything 4 me so i wuld question whether its just placebo.

I add the scoop of Jack3d for flavoring purposes mainly and because a container will last me 45 workouts with only taking one scoop. In my opinion 5g AAKG is not overkill and I can tell a difference in pumps with 2.5g and 5g. I normally don't take taurine but I am currently taking it because I'm on cycle and running an oral.
