FDA attempts to ban your dietary supplements!

Tell your Representative and Senators the FDA should not view your supplements the same way they view synthetic food preservatives!

According to the FDA's New Dietary Ingredient guidelines issued on July 1, 2011, the FDA believes that “new dietary supplements” must be regulated similarly to synthetic food preservatives. The FDA guidelines have modeled the outrageous safety thresholds after those in place for food additives. This appears to be in direct violation of DSHEA, the law enacted in 1994 to protect consumer access to dietary supplements, which classifies dietary supplements as foods, not food additives

I can see the core reasoning of wanting to regulate supplements and if it was done RITE I would be on board with it.
I know that supplants are not always what they seem and some brands are wicked shady when it comes to what is actually in the bottle you think your buying.
From what I know they used to be regulated but the moneybag guys that make them pushed to have supplements and the packaging processes de-regulated, and sadly shadiness set in.
The government getting involved could benefit us in the long run with their involvement, or they could eff everything up lol.
I’m leaning towards the stuff I eat being monitored...

I'd rather deal with shady privateers than I would government regulators. Please stay away from my supplements, Mr. Biden.

I see both sides of this.
If many knew just haw bad the supplement industry truly is it might change their opinions somewhat

As an informed consumer, you can find out which supplements are "as advertised" and which ones are not. There are independent research labs that publish their findings and make money at it. So you could easily refer to these documents and make informed decisions.

I ordered the book, haven't read it yet (waiting for me back home), but I'm hearing Centrum multiples are more or less bogus.

Less regulation can be offset by better information. And this is a way to do it.
