    Protein intake

Here's a basic protein intake question.

    I weigh 170lbs.

I read that for muscle maintenance, we need 1 gram or protein per lb of body weight, and 1.5 grams/lb body weight to gain.
I also read that I can handle about 35grams of protein at one time.

So for maintenance this works out to 170 / 35 = ~5 protein intakes

    Presently [on the ideal day], I am getting 35 grams at: 07:00, 10:30, 13:00, 16:30, 18:30, 22:00 hours.
This is 175 grams -> the correct number for maintenance.

To approach that 1.5gr/lb body weight, do I decrease the times between dosage, or increase the dosage?

    THANKS.

you can handle more than 35g of protein at one time, that is just a myth, not even remotely true with no scientific evidence,

but 5 protein intakes is a good number, anywhere from 5-7 i think is best, so you should increase dosage and if you like you can add 1-2 more meals

Agreed. You can definitely handle more than 35 gs. Especially after your workout, you could easily consume 50g without too much trouble I would think.

I'll eat 4 eggs and a scoop of whey for breakfast and that puts me around 51 grams of protein. I'm 210 and I'm eating around 350 grams of protein a day on my cutting cycle and I'm seeing great results!! I'm averaging about 6 meals a day and 50-60 grams of protein per meal. Also try to eat about every three hours that way you get more meals in and you wont have to sit there and force yourself to eat 100 grams of protein.
(I'm eating this much protein because I'm on a calorie deficit and still working out hard. I'm trying to spare as much muscle as possible while reducing my body fat.)

If your body couldnt digest 35 gram at once, then eating most chicken n steak would be pointless. After work out I probably consum 150carbs 100 protein in an hour. So eat up op n dont worry.

So the "Two grams protein per ten lbs of body weight" single absorption maximum rule of thumb was incorrect.
    I weigh 170.

I'll put my intake at 50g/serving

    Thanks!

50-60g per meal is the normal around here when in serious training.
